Fourteen years ago, Heather Pardieu didn’t let a little dust and debris get in the way of renting a great space. The initial viewing of this 630-square-foot studio apartment in Hollywood that she found on Craigslist happened while it was still undergoing renovations. But Heather, who is the cofounder of interiors firm Foxfeather Design and a fashion stylist, had the confidence that she could be creative enough to transform the blank canvas into a home.

Today, Heather’s home is a vibrant collection of objects that she’s sourced during travels, mixed with flea-market finds, inherited treasures, and a few choice high-end designer elements. “I absolutely love color, prints, and texture, and where I live is a perfect representation of all those details.”

Living in the same space for 14 years means there have been changes. “Over the years, my interior style has evolved, along with my appreciation for color and patterns. My recent updates have primarily focused on restoration, with a few other modern touches,” she writes.

Over the years she’s added a lot of paint and color to the small apartment, as well as created a truly iconic walk-in closet.

“Little by little, I will keep making changes in my space, and I eagerly anticipate these small design challenges, as they bring me so much joy!”

With so many elements in her home, the space is no doubt full of stories. But the apartment itself has a storied past of its own! “My building was built in 1922, originally designed for a hotel.” But Heather says that at some point the building was rumored to be a brothel.
