A 290-Square-Foot NYC Studio Used IKEA to Brilliantly Solve Storage Struggles

Located in a building built in 1899, the apartment being open was luck. “A friend of mine was renting from the same landlord, and by chance, an apartment opened up just across the hall from hers,” Elizabeth writes.
“Beyond the unbeatable location, what I love most is how the space is bathed in natural light nearly all day long. There’s also so much character still intact from its original build, giving it a unique charm that makes it feel like an extra special home.”
Elizabeth, who’s an executive assistant in private equity, describes the apartment’s vibes before moving in as “typical NYC prewar landlord special. I did fall in love with the potential to make it fit my style with the help of the exposed brick and classic look of the bathroom.”
I think my home gives cozy vintage vibes with just a touch of modernity in some statement pieces. I wanted my home to feel warm, soft, welcoming and lived-in, both to myself and to guests, when I was putting everything together.
