Dino Tariman says this 420-square-foot condo located in Taguig City, Metro Manila, came with the basics but was pretty bare. “[T]hankfully, it had built-in cupboards, which helped make the kitchen feel furnished,” he begins. “I also liked how the bathroom was spacious since it also doubled as a laundry room.”

"As a laid-back person myself, I think the interior was able to capture that. The sofa is big enough to act as a daybed, perfect for lounging after work or on Saturday afternoons," Dino writes. Dino also loves the acrylic-style chair in the dining area. "It always grabs the attention by anyone who sees it. And since it's foldable, it can be stored away to free up space."

“Considering that the original intention of the unit is to be rented out (and while there’s no tenant to accommodate yet), I had the utmost pleasure of decorating it for myself the way I like it,” Dino explains.

Dino describes the wall color as "a pale yellow with a subtle orange hue. It does give a warmth, especially when the sun's rays enters for a short while." Dino also installed a few shelves in the apartment himself, writing that he was surprised by "how much thought goes into the exercise of installing — starting with the proportions of the shelf, to figuring out a practical height and choosing what kind of bracket!"

“Now, this apartment feels already homey, bright, and airy despite the modest floor area, Dino continues. “I had inspiration from the fun and relaxed energy that the mid-century modern style brings but have a strong affinity for the timelessness of classic interiors. Google is great at throwing me plenty of design ideas until I chanced upon the transitional style, and it finally clicked on me that this is it!”

Thanks, Dino!
