This Fall-Inspired Kitchen Staple Looks So High-End, You’d Never Guess It’s From Aldi

The Staub pumpkin Dutch oven may just be one of the most iconic kitchen accessories ever. It comes in a bunch of different colors, including classic orange, chic white, matte black, and a moody dark green, and I can only assume it makes every fall casserole, soup, braise, and roast taste that much better. However, if you’re not willing to spend $200 on one of these pumpkins, you can head to Aldi right now instead.

Aldi brought back its under-$15 version of the pumpkin casserole dish in the beloved “aisle of shame,” and it looks so similar to the Staub dish, you’ll have to do a double take.

“GOURDgeous pumpkin finds at Aldi this week!!” Ashley from Oh Hey Aldi on Instagram wrote in a recent caption. In her carousel, she included a few snaps of the Crofton Pumpkin Casserole Dish, which comes in both orange and white.

Aldi says these casserole dishes are best used for displaying food items like nuts, chips, or any other cold appetizer. It’s unclear if you’re able to put the dish in the oven, so you’ll want to read the fine print before using. Unlike the Staub dishes, these aren’t made with enameled cast iron, so they can’t be used directly on the stovetop. 

If your Aldi is already sold out of the Crofton Pumpkin Casserole Dishes, don’t worry. The Pioneer Woman actually makes one for Walmart, too. Her pumpkin casserole dish is just under $40 and is enameled cast iron, making it super versatile, just like Staub’s. This dish comes in a beautiful creamy white linen color and features a gold-accented stem handle.
