Two years after his first foray into home decor with West Elm, fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra is collaborating with the brand on a second collection of warm and whimsical pieces for kids’ rooms and nurseries.

The assortment balances sweetness with sophistication, though. Many of the items could easily live in adult spaces, from living rooms to bedrooms.

Why the Altuzarra Collection Is Worth Buying

Expanding on his popular first collection, which featured bestsellers like the Woven Moon & Stars Hamper and Woven Nightstand, Altuzarra is back with new furniture, textiles, lighting, and decorative accessories. Whereas sky and celestial motifs — from clouds and hot air balloons to stars and moons — were featured prominently in the inaugural collab, the latest offerings center around garden florals, vines, and bird shapes.

A handful of pieces feature Altuzarra’s own original hand-drawn sketches. You’ll also find fine textural touches and detailing across the range, from wood fluting and woven wicker to sculptural plaster.

The color palette of the line is super serene, thanks to its liberal use of mint green, soft chalky white, and bleached poplar wood. You’ll also find pops of lavender, mustard yellow, pink, and light blue in the pieces, particularly in the linens and sheets.

What’s nice is that the range works well with the previous offerings. So the new items almost feel like an extended collection. Many of the materials — like rattan and bouclé — have been used again to create visual continuity between pieces.

The collection is available today, with prices starting at just $45 for crib sheeting and ranging up to the thousands for striking, statement pieces like the gorgeous Painted Dresser, which features beautiful botanical sketches, and the upholstered bed, a modern heirloom that could grow up alongside your kid.

Get the Altuzarra Look at Home

To make shopping this line even easier,  I picked some of my favorite products. You can check out the whole collection as well, but enjoy this sampling. It’ll give you a good sense of its enchanting look and feel.

Joseph Altuzarra Fluted Book Ledge
$99

The pretty fluting and gorgeous green colorway upgrade these standard book ledges. Imagine a trio of these decked out with books or prints. Talk about functional artwork!

Kids Joseph Altuzarra Nightstand
$399

The beautiful botanicals emblazoned on this nightstand make it like a one-of-a-kind, bespoke piece. Sure, these are designed for kids’ rooms, but I’d gladly put these bedside in my own guest bedroom or primary suite.

Kids Joseph Altuzarra Vine Stripe Sheet Set, Queen
$139

Similarly, the vine design on this sheet set is equal parts sweet and sophisticated. I’d use them to pep up a tired duvet. There are even curtains to match.

Joseph Altuzarra Fluted Bookcase
$799

The graceful arch design of this fluted bookcase makes it a winner in my book. You just need one, but you could also line them up along a wall for more storage than you might ever need.

$799 at West Elm
Joseph Altuzarra Plaster Sconce
$199

Plaster makes for the most minimally beautiful lighting material. I love how Altuzarra molded his pieces, including this wall sconce, into simple, sweet flower shapes.

Kids Joseph Altuzarra Upholstered Bed, Twin
$849

Yes, this upholstered bed is an investment piece. But it’s the kind of item that literally never goes out of style. Buy it once, and you’ll have it for decades.

Joseph Altuzarra Bird Basket
$149

Heard of animalcore style? This bird basket nails that look to a T. Use it to stash toys or linens away.
