I’ve seen some tiny kitchens over the years — it comes with the territory of New York City living — but the one in my current apartment is pretty hard to beat. Crammed into a little alcove in my studio’s entry hallway, you’ll find a measly kitchen with about a foot of counter space. (It’s a struggle.) To give you an even better visual: You can reach the sink, stove, and fridge all without moving an inch.

Naturally, it didn’t take long after I moved in for me to start searching for smart organizers and thinking outside of the box; I just can’t afford to let any bit of space go unused, whether it’s the side of my fridge or the top of my oven. So as soon as I noticed that there was a weird triangle of dead space behind my kitchen sink, my mind immediately went to a corner organizer. A bit of research later, I landed on Amazon’s Bambüsi Cabinet Organizer Shelf, and it frees up so much space on my countertop!

What Is the Bambüsi Cabinet Organizer Shelf?

If your sink sits at an angle like mine and you have a random corner behind it that you aren’t sure what to do with, this organizer is the perfect solution. In fact, it can also triple the storage capacity of any corner in your kitchen, including the ones in your cabinets, as it’s only 9.5 inches tall and 10 inches deep.

On the three tiers — which have about four inches between them — you can stack dishes, pantry items, or pretty much anything else you can think of. It could even function as a produce holder, as one of the photos on Amazon suggests. The organizer is made of sturdy, eco-friendly bamboo, but it also comes in three other colors if you aren’t looking for the natural look. Because the organizer is also available in white, gray, and black, you could even match it to your appliances or countertop color.

Why I Love the Cabinet Organizer Shelf

I didn’t think I would ever find an organizer that would fit in such a tiny, oddly shaped space, so this gem was a welcome surprise. After a simple assembly process (it comes with a screwdriver!), I immediately started putting the items cluttering my counter — veggie wash, dish soap, and my utensil caddy — on the top shelf. For months, it has done a great job at keeping them out of the way but within reach. The height keeps everything from getting wet while I wash my dishes (water inevitably splashes onto the counter).

I keep my bulky Pyrex mixing bowls on the shelf below, which has freed up a good portion of one of my cabinet shelves, and my dish-drying mat sits on the one below that. Even when I take something off of one level, it doesn’t wobble or budge, so I’m sure I could add even more items to it. The slight lip around the outer edge makes me feel even more confident that nothing will fall, too.

I could even see myself adding one of these to my under-sink cabinet or my bathroom countertop to make use of the vertical space. The price is definitely right at only $22, and it looks stylish and neutral enough to go anywhere!
