Anthropologie’s Newest Launch Is Holiday Magic for Grandma Hobbyists

If you enjoy a cozy hobby (think: knitting, crocheting, needlepoint), then there’s a new set of candles made specifically for you and any crafting aficionados in your life. Anthropologie collaborated with Hotel Lobby Candle, a brand known for scents inspired by luxe resorts and destinations around the world, to drop limited-edition candles inspired by quality leisure time hobbies we all know and love.

The brand’s two new candles, Mahjong and Needlepoint, dropped today and retail for $58. They’ll be sold via Hotel Lobby Candle, and in Anthropologie stores. 

Mahjong, designed in a lavender-colored jar and featuring mahjong tiles in beautiful holiday-appropriate packaging, is described as “a fresh, green composition rooted in the ritual of Mahjong — where the crispness of jade bamboo and bergamot blend with curling wisps of incense smoke, as the clack of tiles marks the start of something sacred.” It also features notes of orris, saffron, sandalwood, and worn leather.

Needlepoint, on the other hand, is lighter. It’s described as “soft, creamy, and powdery with a whisper of fresh florals and a silk scarf dabbed in vintage fragrance.” The scent also features hints of blush peony, rose, vanilla musk, and the fragrance of an antique powder compact, per Anthropologie’s materials.

They both smell like the days of yore, but with a modern twist — just like the hobbies you love to enjoy the same way your relatives may have. Even if you’re not into these trendy pastimes, who dislikes a gorgeous-smelling candle?
