This Stunning Paris Apartment Has No Rugs — But Double the Coffee Tables
It took fashion designer Audrey Rogers three months to find this apartment in Paris’ 7th arrondissement. “I knew I wanted a Haussmanian style apartment with lots of light, and it had to be on the Left Bank,” she writes of the rental she’s lived in for two years and shares with Biba, the Pomeranian.

“I love the quirky layout, the enormous pencil thin balcony and all the strange rooms, nooks, and crannies that make it a very unique place to live.” (What are your favorite architectural quirks in Audrey’s home? Let us know in the Community Forum!)
When it came to decorating the 900ish-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment, Audrey decided to choose a color palette that honors the existing architecture of the space. Inspired by the unit’s hardwood floors, she went with gold and terracotta decorative elements to complement the wood tones.
But don’t expect to see any new purchases in the space. “My priority was to not buy anything new. I love vintage clothing, I collect vintage clothing, why would I ever go and buy brand-new furniture?” says Audrey, who admits the only new things in her apartment are her sofa and bed. (Have you decorated with only second-hand furniture in your own home? Tell us about it in the Community Forum.)
There are challenges to living in this gorgeous apartment. “There’s no elevator, so getting all my antique and vintage furniture up a very narrow staircase was an ongoing mission that extended across months and months,” Audrey writes. “My sofa required three attempted deliveries before it actually made it up to my apartment on the fifth floor.”
Thanks, Audrey!
