As someone who has to be up as early as 3 a.m. on weekdays to start her work day, I put a lot of emphasis on creating an ideal sleep space. I use blackout curtains, a sunrise alarm clock, and minimize the visual clutter to make my bedroom as peaceful as it can be. The last piece of the puzzle was finding the perfect mattress, and I had high expectations.

It needed to be soft yet supportive, great for all types of sleepers (I’m mainly a side and back sleeper, but sometimes I want to lie on my stomach), made of memory foam (not spring-based), and, most importantly, it cannot have any fiberglass in it (a new must-have criteria for me; I’ll get into the reason why later). Then I learned about the Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress, and got the chance to test it at home. After a few months of sleeping on it, I can say that I have finally found a mattress that checks every single box.

Right now, Bare Home is offering massive discounts on mattresses, along with a promo code of $125 off mattresses. Use code MATTRESS. Combined, that makes a normally $1,398 priced queen-size mattress now $574!

Quick Overview

A Quick Look at the Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress

  • The mattress is made of visco memory foam and is 100% fiberglass-free
  • It has five layers: a breathable form-fitting top layer, contouring pressure relief layer, responsive supportive layer, motion isolation layer, and a durable bottom cover layer
  • It’s a medium to medium-firm mattress, which makes it the perfect balance between soft and supportive for all sleep positions (back, side, and stomach)
  • The mattress is covered by a 100-day sleep trial and 10-year warranty
  • It’s OEKO-TEX, SFI, and CertiPUR-US certified

Design Features That Stand Out

The Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress is a memory foam mattress that has five layers, which all offer support, softness, and pressure relief. The top layer is breathable and molds to your body; the two-inch visco memory foam provides pressure relief and proper spinal alignment; there’s a responsive support layer and motion isolation layer, both of which provide support and stabilization; and finally a bottom protective layer.

What stands out the most about this mattress is how it is made with no unnecessary chemicals (such as formaldehyde or heavy metals), backed by numerous certifications (OEKO-TEX, SFI, and CertiPUR-US), and contains zero fiberglass. This was very important to me. Fiberglass is used as a flame retardant in mattresses and is normally safe in it, as long as it doesn’t escape the mattress. You’d have to tear it open for any risks, but there have been some cases in which unzipping or even a slight tearing of a zip-up mattress could cause exposure, according to multiple sources, like the Sleep Foundation and California Department of Public Health. For me, the cons far outweigh the pros, so knowing that this mattress is fiberglass-free and thoughtfully engineered was an instant standout feature.

How It Performed

As someone who doesn’t stick to just one sleep position — I gravitate toward side sleeping, but often sleep on my back, and on rare occasions like to sleep on my stomach — the Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress was perfect for me. It’s a balanced mattress, too; firmly supportive, yet soft and comfortable (it’s a medium to medium-firm). The motion isolation layer is great for anyone who shares a bed with a partner and/or pet (I have both!). It minimizes movement, so you don’t disturb the other person. When I’m getting up at 3 a.m., my husband is still sound asleep.

What We Loved

  • The contouring pressure relief layer molds to your body and provides comfort.
  • Motion transfer is minimized with the motion isolation layer, so disturbance is limited if you share a bed with another person.
  • This mattress is fiberglass-free and OEKO-TEX, SFI, and CertiPUR-US certified.
  • It’s ideal for all types of sleepers — side, back, and stomach — and offers a medium to medium-firmness.

Good to Know

This mattress works like any bed in a box — once opened, let it sit for a few hours or up to a day to fully expand. This one is 11 inches tall and comes in twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. The mattress doesn’t retain heat, but doesn’t offer any major cooling properties. That’s not a deal-breaker to me, as I sleep with the AC on and 100% cotton sheets. If you’re a hot sleeper, consider adding a cooling topper or bedding.

Who Should Buy the Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress?

This medium to medium-firm memory foam mattress is ideal for any type of sleeper, for anyone who shares a bed with another person (since movement is minimized), and for anyone looking into a mattress that’s fiberglass-free and thoroughly constructed.

The best part is that a queen-size bed, normally priced at $1,398, is now $574, thanks to the combination of the company’s massive discounts on mattresses plus special promo happening right now. You can get $125 off using promo code MATTRESS on mattresses. So if you’ve been on the fence about purchasing a new mattress, then now’s the time to act.
