Why You Should Put This Bathroom Holder in Your Kitchen Instead (It’s So Smart!)
I have a small kitchen with very limited cabinet storage space. My cabinets are packed to the brim with tableware and kitchen towels (I prefer not to use paper towels), so I’m always on the hunt for new ways to maximize my small kitchen space. I’ve added some floating shelves and even hung storage containers on the walls to store fruits and vegetables. Recently I spotted a kitchen storage hack using a bathroom storage gem instead — and I knew instantly that it was a brilliant idea.
The Bathroom Holder You Should Use in Your Kitchen
Digital creator Arthty Ragupathy shared the ways she added storage to her small kitchen, and one of her tips involved installing a bathroom towel rail against a kitchen wall. Ragupathy uses a double towel rack for this simple hack.
To use a bathroom towel rail in your kitchen for storage, you need to install it on any of your blank walls. (This can be renter-friendly if you use Command strips instead of drilling into the wall.) Then fold your kitchen towels and hang them on the top rail. For the bottom rail, you can use extra hooks to hang coffee and tea mugs that you use regularly — therefore freeing up essential cabinet and counter space for other things you might need to store.
Why This Kitchen Storage Hack Is So Smart
Ragupathy used a $60 brushed brass Gatco 5054 Designer II Double Towel Bar from Amazon in her kitchen to utilize empty walls to hang mugs and tea towels, but you could find any double towel bar you really like and that matches your kitchen’s aesthetic.
I haven’t installed the bathroom towel hack in my kitchen yet, but I’m looking into it now. This smart storage solution is equal parts functional and stylish, which I love. I plan to hang my cuter printed kitchen towels and my mugs with the prettiest designs on the rail. I also love that I’ll be able to expand my storage space and add visual interest to the blank wall that the towel rack is replacing. Additionally, mugs and napkins that I use frequently will be even easier to access.
But why stop there? I could hang a towel rack above my bedroom dresser as well. I think it’ll be perfect to hang my makeup-removing towels, hair brushes, scrunchies, and other accessories.
