This Gorgeous Bedding Set Is So Soft and Smooth (It’s Perfect for Hot Sleepers!)

Even though I know there are many benefits to making the bed in the morning (it can set a positive, productive tone for your day, for instance), I don’t make my bed every single morning. At some point before the day ends, it gets made, but it’s certainly not the very first thing I do (that would be to kiss my cat on her little head) and sometimes I’m lucky if it happens right before I crawl back in for the night. But for the past month and half, I’ve been on a bed-making streak, and it’s all because of the Bed Threads Organic Cotton Percale Bedding Set I received for testing. I’m not exaggerating when I say this Bed Threads set has made me want to make my bed because of how fast it makes the process and how chic and satisfying the results are. 

Though the Australian bedding brand is known for its gorgeous linen sheets (100% French flax linen, to be exact), Bed Threads just released its newest line of sheets in July 2025 and in a cozy departure, it’s made of cotton. The sheets sport a 200-thread count and a percale weave, which makes them extra breathable and great for hot sleepers.

You can also buy each item separately if you desire or just go for a sheet-focused set (which has flat and fitted sheets, plus a set of pillowcases. The bedding comes in eight colors, from rich neutrals like Butterscotch, Vanilla (that’s what I got), and a Crisp White to bold statements like Espresso, Apple, Aegean, Berry, and Moss. 

As mentioned, this bedding set has me making my bed every morning now. The duvet is so wrinkle-free, all I have to do is yank it taut and my bed looks great. A quick pillow fluff and I feel like a million bucks. Maybe it has something to do with the warm, worn-in vanilla color I chose, or maybe it’s the brand’s roots in relaxed linen looks, but this bedding set looks so good no matter how haphazardly I pull the covers into place. It doesn’t take any primping and preening to smooth it out, and I don’t really bother creasing the duvet or tucking things in, because I personally love how casual and unmade-yet-put-together it looks. Paired with my minimalist bed frame, it’s the extremely understated star of my room. 

When I climb into bed at night, the sheets feel soft and smooth, and put me at ease. Even after a few washes, I haven’t noticed any pilling or wear of any kind yet. I only dread sending them out with my laundry because that means I can’t have them on my bed. I’m not a particularly hot sleeper, but the weather has changed a lot in the month and a half I’ve had these, and they’ve felt just as comfortable during a heat wave and cool early fall nights.

The only caveat I can think of is that the bedding set doesn’t include a flat sheet, but I’m personally OK with that because I don’t actually like to use them anyway. It adds a whole extra step to making my bed, and it always ends up bunched up around my feet by morning anyway. So while the lack of a flat sheet in the Bed Threads Organic Cotton Bedding Set may be a drawback for some, it’s a win for me. I feel seen! If you do prefer having a flat sheet, you can always buy it separately. As for me, I will be gleefully making my bed most mornings in a matter of seconds, feeling very smug about it, and enjoying the cool, cozy results.
