Certain decor doesn’t transition well from college to more grown-up digs, and your futon is one of them. Which makes this a good hack for folks who don’t want to get rid of the one they currently own, or spend the money on a new sofa. Elizabeth shows you how to do it with IKEA’s GRANKULLA, but you can use any similar type of wooden futon.

To make this new daybed happen, Elizabeth disassembled the futon, made a few modifications, and then reconstructed it into a different shape. She even made the fabric herself from a hand-carved stamped based on street tiles in Barcelona. Adorable!
