While standing in front of a wall of paint swatches, finding the right hue for your space can be daunting. You don’t have to, but it might be helpful to get some inspiration before you head to the store. And if you’re looking specifically in the mix of dark greens, one DIYer, Becky George, has an all-time favorite color that you might just fall in love with.

“Sharing this again because I always get soooo many questions on the color we used for our kid’s bathroom refresh!” George wrote in an Instagram post. She noted that she used matte for the walls and semigloss for the trim, cabinets, and doors. After color-drenching her bathroom in it, it’s no surprise that people fell in love, too.

Benjamin Moore’s Dark Olive (2140–30) Works Basically Anywhere

George used Benjamin Moore’s Dark Olive (2140-30), and people are obsessed with the gray-green shade. It’s no wonder; the hue is earthy, dark, and neutral while also making any room or element feel dramatic. “It’s really so gorgeous,” one person commented on George’s post. Another said, “My all-time fave.”

Green is one of the most popular colors for bedrooms and living rooms because it’s soothing and can make you feel more relaxed. However, that can all depend on which green shade you choose. A muted olive or sage green definitely gives a calm vibe, but you can kick green up a notch with some yellow and end up with an energizing emerald that packs a punch.

As long as you love the green you’re working with, there’s no wrong green paint to use. But if you want an olive shade that’s a big winner, check out Benjamin Moore’s Dark Olive (2140-30), and you may find yourself color-drenching multiple rooms in your home like George. It’s seriously that good!
