Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Happy family: mom, dad and little son in Santa Claus sweaters sitting on window and looking at the winter park. Room decorated on Christmas. Enjoy the snowfall.

Once the temperature outside drops below freezing, I’m 10x more likely to cancel all my plans. Which means I need to keep a batch of boredom-beating activities at the ready, lest I spend every snow day binge watching reality TV (which I’ll still do sometimes, of course). My husband and I love playing board games and putting together jigsaw puzzles, but our latest obsession is building LEGO sets.

It started with one of the buzzy LEGO botanical sets, then spiraled into receiving them as gifts from friends and family, and now we’ve got a bit of a collection going. We don’t have kids, but I maintain that LEGOs are wholesome, tech-free fun for folks of all ages — and the finished builds double as home decor! They’re the ultimate snow-day activity, as far as I’m concerned. Keep reading for a few of my favorite sets (and new ones I have my eye on!).

LEGO Botanicals Flower Bouquet Building Set
$60$48

The set that kicked off my obsession, this LEGO bouquet will outlive any Trader Joe’s arrangement (it’s also saved me hundreds on weekly fresh flower hauls). And it’s surprisingly quite easy to put together! Styled in a cute vase, they bring a quirky, colorful element to any room. Plus, it’s on sale right now!

LEGO Botanicals Tiny Plants
$50$40

I got this Tiny Plants set as a Christmas gift last year and have loved styling the individual plant pots in different spots in my apartment. The vibrant pieces add instant brightness to a bookshelf or coffee table, and you can always arrange all the pots together to create a faux garden vibe. It’s an aspiring plant person’s dream!

LEGO Botanicals Petite Sunny Bouquet Flower Set
$30$24

Perfect for the budding LEGO enthusiast, this petite bouquet set features flowers like Billy buttons, bluebells, a peony, tulip, and more. And it’s seriously small at only 8.5 inches high, so you can put it almost anywhere. What’s more, you can combine them with other stems from the LEGO Botanicals collection and create your own custom arrangement.

LEGO Botanicals Orchid
$50$40

This LEGO Botanicals Orchid set is a touch more challenging than the other builds on this list (hence the 18-plus age limit), but I promise you, it’s worth it. The finished product looks incredibly striking with its delicate white petals and long elegant stems, making it the perfect centerpiece for your dining or coffee table.

LEGO Botanicals Succulents
$50$40

Like the Tiny Plants, this Succulents set can be arranged individually or as a group, so it’s a great project to build with friends. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a few of the succulents are flexible, too, so you can wiggle and adjust certain leaves and petals as your heart desires. Leave it to LEGO to make succulents even more low-maintenance than they were already.

LEGO Botanicals Bouquet of Pink Roses
$67

This sweet bouquet includes 12 stems of roses with a touch of baby’s breath for a delicate flourish. QVC shoppers say it makes for the most satisfying build at 789 pieces, and it looks surprisingly real once complete. Paired with a box of chocolate, it’s the perfect gift for someone special.

LEGO Botanicals Hibiscus Flower
$70

The gorgeous lavender petals on this Hibiscus set just about sealed the deal for me. Flower nodes, buds, and full-on blooms keep the build engaging, and the faceted plant pot is ready to style pretty much anywhere. Standing at 14 inches high, it’s guaranteed to catch your guests’ eye. All you have to do is stand by for compliments.

LEGO Christmas Tree
$44

LEGO’s holiday sets are quick to sell out, but you can still grab festive builds like this Christmas Tree Set right now. The 784-piece set can be built as two mini trees or one larger tree, so it’s essentially two sets in one. It includes ornaments and a star topper, but if you have spare LEGO blocks on hand, you can always add bricks for a personalized look!
