I have to imagine that the most fun part of planning a wedding (aside from picking the dress) is putting together a registry. It’s basically online window shopping, and you get to add whatever you could possibly want in the hopes that one of your attendees will also recognize that you do, indeed, need a gorgeous espresso machine.

Of course, it’s difficult to know where to start, so I went ahead and put together some must-haves from top retailers, including West Elm, Quince, Amazon, and more. For each retailer, I’ve highlighted the best product categories to consider. You can rest assured that these picks are not only beautiful, but also practical — regardless of whether you opt for a hard-shell luggage set or a bench-seat sofa upholstered in soft performance fabric.

Without further ado, let’s get into the best stylish-yet-functional wedding registry picks around. Be sure to bookmark this page so you never run out of ideas during your planning process.

West Elm

West Elm’s registry service makes choosing your gifts a breeze — you can book an appointment with the brand’s Design Crew, who will help you create the perfect wish list. You can also add products from other Williams Sonoma brands, like Pottery Barn, and enjoy a 10% completion discount on all orders once your registry is complete.

I’ve tested a lot of items from West Elm, and I specifically recommend its nightstands and rugs. There are so many stunning collections to check out, and most of them are highly customizable, to boot.

TENCEL Deco Rug, 5' x 8'
$529

Art Deco is decidedly in for this year, and this handcrafted rug subtly plays on the aesthetic with its column pattern and arched details. You’ll also notice it has a slight sheen in person, although its neutral colorway keeps it easy to style. A good rug is key to tying together any space, which makes this a wonderful registry addition for couples moving into a new home.

$529 at West Elm
Brass & Glass Globe Votive Centerpiece
$129

There are so many places you can display this votive centerpiece, from the dining table to the fireplace mantel to the entryway console. Designed to mimic the shape of a tree branch, the candle holder will instantly dress up a dull area, and I have no doubt you’ll want to keep it for years to come.

$129 at West Elm
Organic Metal Jewelry Storage Tower, Small
$39

Some of West Elm’s organizers are pretty enough to double as decor, and that includes this brass jewelry holder. It’s also well-priced for the retailer and therefore an easy item to throw onto your wish list. Keep your most-worn jewelry within easy reach on your dresser or vanity without detracting from your home’s aesthetic.

$39 at West Elm
Solstice Mini Nightstand
$449

I viewed the regular-sized Solstice nightstand in West Elm’s store and loved its whitewashed, textured finish and the way its drawers wrap around for a modern effect. The mini version is great if you’ve moved into an apartment, and you can shop the bedside tables in a set of two. They’ll add a spa-like feel to your most personal space.

$449 at West Elm
Staggered Glass USB Table Lamp
$179

West Elm has some of the best portable lamp designs I’ve seen, so I definitely recommend adding one or two to your list. This one features a trendy sphere-shaped shade and striking brass stem and base. Because it’s cordless, you can place it wherever you need ambient lighting. Maybe you’ll position a set on top of your new nightstands!

$179 at West Elm

Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel also has an easy-to-use registry service, not to mention a handy list of its most-bought registry items for inspo. And you can add items from CB2 to your wish list, too! Here I would specifically look at decorative accents, like wall art and throw pillows, as well as floor lamps and bookshelves that offer tons of storage. A sophisticated living room is just a few clicks away.

Ruff Green Suede Decorative Tray by Brigette Romanek
$200

Corral your perfume collection or entryway accessories with this dazzling suede tray. It has a cool sculptural silhouette and is undeniably more unique than your usual marble or metal tray. It also has a slightly Art Deco look, but its green hue keeps it easy to style with other decor.

$200 at Crate & Barrel
"Sense of Place" by Aliyah Sadaf Wall Art
$1,499

Crate & Barrel has a solid selection of wall art, including works by featured artists that span a wide range of styles. This piece by Aliyah Sadaf can be hung vertically or horizontally and will add texture and dimension to your hallway or dining room. While you’re at it, add some smaller frames to your registry, too.

$1,499 at Crate & Barrel
Remi Natural Linen Floor Lamp
$399

Although I recommend West Elm for table lamps, Crate & Barrel is my go-to for design-forward floor lamps. This geometric number is wrapped in linen from its shade to its base and boasts beautiful gilded details. The lamp is at once cozy and contemporary, not to mention a solid statement piece.

$399 at Crate & Barrel
Tuscan Landscape Throw Pillow
$81

After looking at the lamps, make your way to Crate & Barrel’s throw pillows, which come in a variety of prints and patterns. This Tuscan landscape version is like a work of art and will add a much-needed pop of color if the rest of your living space is neutral. It comes in two sizes and two insert options.

$81 at Crate & Barrel
Baja Natural Storage Bookcase
$1,699

I love Crate & Barrel’s storage furniture; the brand has some pretty stellar bookcase designs. This one is simple compared to others, but it’ll serve as a nice backdrop for your souvenirs and mementos. Its chamfered edges add charm, while a cabinet at the bottom helps conceal clutter.

$1,699 at Crate & Barrel

Amazon

You can create all kinds of registries on Amazon, including, of course, wedding registries. Although you can get pretty much any kind of product from the mega-retailer, I would keep an eye out for cool tech products that’ll make your home feel more luxurious.

Amazon is also a favorite destination for stylish yet budget-friendly outdoor furniture. And if you look at its bestselling decor, you’ll find a lot of gallery wall frame sets that look way more expensive than they are.

Vitruvi Stone Diffuser
$123$98

Beautifully designed with a matte ceramic finish, this diffuser is an AT favorite and will make your space feel totally Zen. It runs for three hours non-stop, or seven hours if it runs at 30-second intervals, and comes in three soothing colors.

$98 at Amazon
Rattaner Store 3-Piece Outdoor Furniture Set
$320

If you have a private outdoor area, be sure to add a chic yet budget-friendly patio set to your registry. This one has an all-weather wicker frame and beige waterproof cushions that’ll fit right in with the rest of your deck decor. And it can seat up to four people, thanks to the moveable ottoman.

$320 at Amazon
FLYHIT Towel Warmer
$100$80

How luxe would it feel to have a warm towel to wrap yourself in every time you step out of the shower? With this highly rated towel warmer, that dream can become a reality. It’s one of those items you don’t think you need until you actually own it. So, why not let a loved one treat you?

$80 at Amazon
Hatch Restore 3
$170$140

Having the right environment to fall asleep in is crucial — especially after a busy year of wedding planning. Our editors love the Hatch Restore for its impressive collection of sounds, and they also like its extra features, like the programmable light that mimics the sunrise and the free app that lets you create a customized light and sound schedule to fit your sleep patterns.

$140 at Amazon
Kate and Laurel Adlynn Traditional Picture Frame Set, Set of 5
$80

Amazon has an impressive selection of picture frames that’ll help you display your wedding photos in style. This set by Kate and Laurel comes with five for $80, which is a good deal compared to those offered by some other retailers. Because you’re getting a gallery set all together, you don’t have to experiment with different frame styles and sizes, either.

$80 at Amazon

Quince

Quince is quickly becoming a one-stop shop for everything related to home and fashion. Our editors have tested countless products from the brand and can speak to their durability and good looks. We especially like to call attention to Quince’s luggage, bedding, and bath products. More recently, it launched furniture that’ll make your bedroom look like an upscale hotel.

Although Quince doesn’t have its own registry service, you can add products from the brand through popular registry sites like MyRegistry. While you’re at it, be sure to check out the wedding gift shop for ideas.

Carry-On & Large Check-In Suitcase Bundle
$250

Our editors have raved about Quince’s hard-shell suitcases, so why not snag a set for your upcoming honeymoon? The bags come in four colors and feature spinner wheels, TSA-approved combination locks, removable laundry bags, and interior compression systems. In other words, they’re perfect.

$250 at Quince
Mongolian Cashmere Throw
$130

If I were looking for a practical and luxurious wedding gift and didn’t have a registry to reference, I would totally gift this bougie cashmere throw. It’s unbeatably soft and will make a sofa or bed feel that much more homey. Its tasseled ends add a bit of pizzazz, but ultimately this pick is the essence of quiet luxury.

$130 at Quince
Turkish Cotton Bath Mat Bundle
$65

Quince is one of the best places to shop for soft goods, and that includes both bedding and bath essentials, like these Turkish cotton bath mats. They’ll absorb all runoff water and dry quickly, to boot. They’re also designed to hold up well amid regular washing.

$65 at Quince
European Linen Sheet Set, Queen
$180

If our team had to agree on just one item that you have to get from Quince, I’m confident it would be the European linen sheet set. Not only have the sheets been described as hotel-quality, but they’ll also keep you and your spouse cool all night — and they come in so many gorgeous colors!

$180 at Quince
Organic Turkish Waffle Robe
$50

How cute would matching house robes be? Quince has this unisex waffle robe that not only feels soft against the skin, but its textured design also has pockets. With more than 1,700 ratings and an average rating of 4.9 out of 5, it’s a surefire crowd-pleaser.

Macy’s

You can create a wedding registry at Macy’s here and enjoy perks like a completion discount of up to 20% and free registry gift consultation services. Bedding should be at the top of your list. Macy’s has amazing collections, like the Hotel Collection, which are known for their balance of quality and hotel aesthetic style for an affordable price. Other things to include are cookware, dish sets, and bath essentials. See my favorite examples below.

Hotel Collection Foglia Comforter Set, Full/Queen
$550$219

One of the Hotel Collection’s newer releases, this Foglia comforter set sports a grown-up print of jacquard florals in a warm oat color scheme. It’s good for all seasons both visually and in terms of materials; the 100% cotton shell and polyester fill are described as offering medium warmth, which means you’ll get plenty of use out of the comforter and matching shams.

$219 at Macy's
GreenPan Padova 10-Piece Nonstick Cookware Set
$667$400

Leave your mismatched pots and pans behind and instead add this sleek cookware set to your wish list. The 10-piece set comes with everything you need to outfit your kitchen — namely, pots and pans you’ll reach for every day. Best of all, each piece is nonstick and PFAS-free.

$400 at Macy's
Lenox French Perle Groove 12-Piece Dinnerware Set
$275$154

If you ask me, every newlywed couple deserves a beautiful dishware set for hosting, and this lovely French perle set from Lenox has been on my radar since I first saw it last year. The 12-piece bundle comes with enough dinner plates, dinner bowls, and all-purpose bowls for up to four people, so you can enjoy it when it’s just you two or when you’re with friends.

$154 at Macy's
Hotel Collection Sculpted Chain-Link Bath Towel
$36$18

Also part of the Hotel Collection, these towels feature a chain-link pattern that’ll instantly elevate the look of your bathroom. Register for a whole set, and revel in their durable and absorbent cotton material. The towels might be new, but reviews indicate they’re already a hit with customers.

$18 at Macy's
Jo Malone London Fresh Fig & Cassis Townhouse Diffuser
$215$183

Macy’s carries so many popular home fragrance brands. Jo Malone is always a good choice; the brand has sophisticated scents like this fig fragrance. The townhouse size is ideal for large spaces, like your home’s common areas.

$183 at Macy's

Pottery Barn

Like West Elm, Pottery Barn also offers a registry service with a 10% completion discount and free consultations. Other helpful resources are its registry checklist and top-recommended essentials. Our editors especially love the brand’s blackout curtains — and its sleek jewelry boxes and woven storage collections put plastic bins to shame. After testing my fair share of Pottery Barn furniture, I personally suggest looking at its swivel chairs and other cozy pieces.

Seagrass Handcrafted Divided Hamper
$279

Replace your old canvas hamper with something more pleasing to the eye, like this woven seagrass version. It has two compartments, so you can separate your clothes from your partner’s or separate by colors. No matter where you put it, whether it’s the bathroom or closet, it’ll look like part of the decor.

$279 at Pottery Barn
Peace & Quiet Noise-Reducing Blackout Curtain, 50" x 84"
$109

Apartment Therapy editors especially like this Pottery Barn blackout curtain style, which won a spot on our Best List, for its heavy-duty construction and ability to block out all street light. The curtains will help muffle noise, too, which is good if your neighbors have pets or if you live on a busy street.

$109 at Pottery Barn
Newport Wall Mirror
$649

If you live in a small space, a floor mirror will work wonders to make it look bigger and brighter. Pottery Barn has a bunch of cute options, like this new rope-border design. It also comes in a round or arched wall mirror size; maybe you get a couple for consistency between rooms.

$649 at Pottery Barn
Balboa Upholstered Swivel Armchair
$1,449$1,014

Even if you don’t feel comfortable asking for something like a sofa or bed frame, maybe you wouldn’t mind being gifted this ultra-comfy lounge chair for your reading corner. I tested both the small and regular size in the store and loved its plush cushions, smooth swivel, and barrel-back design. Plus, the chair is available in over 150 upholstery fabrics.

$1,014 at Pottery Barn
Stella Jewelry Box, Large
$149

Any time I go into a Pottery Barn store, I always struggle to tear my eyes away from its gorgeous jewelry boxes. The Stella box comes in three sizes and will house your entire jewelry collection; it keeps pieces separate and free of tangles. The fabric-lined interior helps prevent tarnishing, too.

$149 at Pottery Barn

Wayfair

Wayfair doesn’t have its own registry service, so you’ll definitely need to register with a third-party site to add its products to your list. That said, you can peruse its top gift recommendations here. When my colleagues and I cover products from Wayfair, we especially love to highlight its storage solutions, including cabinets that house bathroom linens without taking up a ton of space and shoe racks that keep footwear out of sight.

Also, have a look at the retailer’s vast selection of rugs — especially ones you can use both indoors and outdoors. You’re bound to find something you love for a steal.

Olvera Linen Cabinet
$400$99

A linen cabinet just feels necessary — especially if you use your spare closet for cleaning tools. You can slide this one into an empty space in your bathroom to keep fresh towels safe from the humidity. At under $100, it’s not too big of an ask. Reviewers say assembly is straightforward, too.

$99 at Wayfair
Alcott Hill Mayall Kitchen Cart
$380

No kitchen island? No problem. Just add this spacious kitchen cart to your registry. Its traditional design gives me French countryside vibes, and the dark gray finish is just unconventional enough to set the cart apart from other ones. This pick also has a butcher-block top that’ll come in handy during meal prep, as well as locking wheels and plenty of shelf space.

$380 at Wayfair
Ebern Designs Lift Top Coffee Table
$210$176

If you’re looking for a lift-top coffee table that won’t cost a fortune, Wayfair is the place to go. This one looks way more expensive than it is, but whoever gets it for you will no doubt appreciate the under-$200 price tag. I love the table’s compact form and scalloped detailing. It has tons of storage, too.

$176 at Wayfair
Loloi II Dawn Indoor/Outdoor Natural Area Rug, 5'1" x 7'7"
$209$114

Wayfair also has two other things I love in spades: outdoor accessories and Loloi rugs. This find is the best of both worlds; you can literally put it anywhere, be it the sun room or patio. And if you have a summer wedding planned, you’ll get this right in time for upcoming outdoor gatherings.

$114 at Wayfair
Bay Isle Home 20-Pair Shoe Storage Cabinet
$200$110

If you don’t like having all of your footwear on display right as you walk into your home, definitely add a shoe cabinet to your registry. Wayfair has many stylish options, including this boho model, which can hold up to 20 pairs of shoes. It has more than 660 five-star ratings, so you can trust it’ll get the job done efficiently.

$110 at Wayfair

Williams Sonoma

You can create your registry at Williams Sonoma here and experience the same benefits as you would from other retailers under this brand — namely, free expert advice and a 10% newlywed discount. Williams Sonoma also conveniently breaks down its most popular registry products by category, although it also has a top 100 list

Le Creuset cookware is a no-brainer, as are fancy countertop appliances and dazzling crystal decor. All of the top kitchen brands are here, so take advantage of your relatives’ generosity by snagging a fancy new stand mixer.

Le Creuset Brioche Collection Cast Iron Soup Pot
$345$230

If I were you, I’d add the entire Le Creuset Brioche collection to the registry. But if you end up choosing just a couple of pieces, make one of them this roomy soup pot. It has a generous depth for hearty fall soups, and the sloped sides encourage easy stirring. Made from Le Creuset’s renowned enameled cast iron, the pot is a pro at retaining heat and locking in flavor for flawless results every time.

$230 at Williams Sonoma
MacKenzie-Childs Mocha Check Tea Kettle
$160

MacKenzie-Childs basically sells heirloom kitchenware, and its tea kettles are arguably the most iconic thing from the brand. This one sports the signature check-print in a sophisticated mocha color. It’ll make you and your spouse look forward to slow mornings and cups of tea around the breakfast table.

$160 at Williams Sonoma
KitchenAid Design Series Evergreen Stand Mixer
$800

Is it a mixer? Is it a work of art? Well, KitchenAid’s Evergreen stand mixer is easily both. As if the olive-colored body weren’t sexy enough, the walnut work bowl tips this countertop appliance into a realm of divinity. Of course, it’s just as practical as it is beautiful — as long as you add some mixer attachments to your registry, too.

$800 at Williams Sonoma
Honeycomb Marble Wine Rack
$150

If you and your partner enjoy weekly wine nights while catching up on your favorite show, you need this marble wine rack. It’s part of Williams Sonoma’s popular honeycomb collection (check out the cute pattern adorning the exterior of the marble). The rack can hold six bottles, so you can always keep your favorite pinots in rotation.

$150 at Williams Sonoma
Waterford Lismore Diamond Vase
$330

No registry is complete without some Waterford, and Williams Sonoma carries many of the crystal glassware brand’s most beloved pieces. The Lismore collection is particularly extravagant; this diamond-cut vase will remind you of your special day every time you walk by it. I foresee grandchildren fighting over who gets it, so be sure to put it in your will, too.
