This Cordless Stick Vacuum Is So Lightweight, It’s Perfect for Small Spaces (It’s Also a 3-in-1!)
I love a good vacuum, and since I live in a household with a no-shoes policy, I’m extra invested in making sure my bare (or socked) feet don’t feel dirty all the time. I’ve relied on a corded vacuum for years, but in my small NYC apartment, it sometimes feels too bulky to properly move around. Plus, it’s so heavy that vacuuming can feel like an entire workout, especially when I’m cleaning up pet hair off the sofa.
This leads me to not vacuuming as often as I’d like to, because it, well, no pun intended, feels like a real chore. That’s why I was excited to have the opportunity to test the Bissell PowerClean Furguard Cordless Stick Vacuum, a 3-in-1 machine that’s perfect for pet owners like me. Spoiler alert: I like it so much, I’m saying goodbye to my corded vacuum cleaner.

Design Features That Stand Out
The Bissell PowerClean Furguard Cordless Stick Vacuum has a removable battery and is incredibly lightweight — just over 7 pounds — making it super easy to handle, lift, move, and vacuum with at any time. It’s also a three-in-one machine: You can use it as a stick vacuum, convert to a handheld vacuum, or transform it into a long-reach cleaner.
The vacuum comes with three power modes (it has a 50-minute runtime on low mode and 13 minutes on turbo mode), and attachments, like an upholstery tool, crevice tool, and brush roll. One of my favorite features is that it has headlights on every tool, so whether you’re using the crevice tool, brush roll, or full-on vacuum, you’ll be able to see when it’s got dirt up and when it hasn’t.
How It Performed
What I liked the most about the Bissell PowerClean Furguard Cordless Stick Vacuum is that it’s not as much of a production to vacuum with as is my heavy-duty vacuum. With the latter, I have to wrestle with cords, tight spaces, and, if vacuuming furniture, awkward angles to not tip over the tank its connected to. In terms of performance and level of cleanliness, it was on par with my corded vacuum at a fraction of the weight and with more valuable features (an easier to empty dust container and headlights on certain attachment, for instance). The vacuum comes with three simple power modes, and just a pass or two at the floor will suck up all the dirt, fur, and hair that I need to remove.
I absolutely love the Furguard Brush roll attachment and the fact that the Bissell can turn into a handheld vacuum on a dime. It’s made vacuuming the sofa so easy, and it takes literally half the time, or even less, to have a fur-free sofa. All in all, this cordless stick vacuum is so easy to maneuver that it has replaced my other vacuum and stopped me from using brooms.
What we love
- Lightweight and incredibly easy to maneuver
Headlights on main vacuum and handheld attachment for increased visibility
Three power modes that run from 50 to 13 minutes of runtime
Easy to empty vacuum tank
Attachment dock keeps everything in one place
Good to know
- Battery runtime might not work for larger homes (13 minutes on the highest setting means you’ll use the less powerful settings more often)
- Smaller vacuum tank means more emptying
What We Loved
- Lightweight and incredibly easy to maneuver: The 7.3-pound machine (and lighter if just using attachments) is easy to move throughout the house.
- Headlights on select attachments for increased visibility: Visibly see the dirt and dander you are cleaning up if you’re using any attachment, not just the full vacuum.
- Three power modes that run from 50 to 13 minutes of runtime: The 50-minute runtime is great if you’re cleaning your whole home.
- Attachment dock keeps everything in one place: After you’re done cleaning, attach everything to the wall so you don’t lose an attachment.
Good to Know
- Battery runtime might not work for larger homes: I live in an apartment, so the battery runtime hasn’t been an issue for me, but if your home takes longer than an hour to vacuum, this might not be the machine for you. The most powerful setting has a 13-minute battery life, which means you’re guaranteed to use the first or second power setting more often.
- Smaller vacuum tank means more emptying: It’s a lightweight vacuum and it looks like it, but that also means the tank is smaller, so you may need to empty it a few times while vacuuming.
Should You Buy the Bissell Powerclean Furguard Cordless Stick Vacuum?
If you, like me, live in a small apartment, have a dog that sheds, and just want an easy to assemble and use vacuum you can pull out at any moment of the day, then this is absolutely the vacuum for you. It’s the perfect machine for someone who wants something lightweight, compact, powerful, and doesn’t have a ton of square footage to contend with. Plus, it comes at a reasonable price point, under $300, a fraction of the cost of other luxury cordless stick vacuum manufacturers. All in all, I’d have to say I’m pretty obsessed with this small but mighty machine.
