As a New York City resident, I have a strict “shoes-off” policy in my apartment. In spite of this, my entryway can’t be spared from all of the grime that sticks to the bottom of my shoes. Naturally, I always have a floor cleaning tool on hand, because it takes no time at all for my hallway’s wood floors to go from gleaming to downright disgusting.

My go-to was Swiffer WetJet for a while — until the spray nozzle broke. I moved onto a bona fide mop, but it’s better suited for deep cleans instead of quick upkeep. I nearly resorted to spraying my floor with a cleaning solution and wiping it up with a microfiber cloth, but then, the Bona Spray Mop Air came into my life. Not only does it save me money and cut down on waste, but it also makes my floor cleaning routine go so much faster!

What Is the Bona Spray Mop Air?

Bona has a number of mops on its lineup, but the Air is specially designed for small spaces. It’s ultralightweight and slim, which makes for effortless maneuverability and storage. You can easily hang it on a hook or stash it in a corner of a closet.

Despite its compact build, the mophead is wide, so it covers more ground than many other spray mops. And unlike many that use disposable pads, Bona’s is made of microfiber cloth, which can be washed up to 500 times. It’s also eco-friendly in that the brand’s Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner Concentrate consists of 92% USDA-certified biobased content. That means that your home won’t be overrun with an intense chemical smell, especially with its Lemon Mint scent.

The mop and its pH neutral cleaner is safe for multi-surface floors, including hardwood, stone, and tile. You can buy refills here, and though you won’t have to buy a mophead replacement for months, Amazon sells a pack of three for just $17. That should last you at least a year, if not longer.

Why I Love the Bona Spray Mop Air

Because it’s so convenient, I’ve started keeping this spray mop right behind my front door so I can easily reach for it every couple of days. It’s a step up from other spray mops I’ve used in a number of ways: For one, it lives up to its name in that it weighs almost nothing, and it glides across the floor, requiring barely any force on my part.

Another feature I love? You don’t have to press a button that’s built into the handle. The trigger is separate from where you grip the mop to push it around, so there’s no chance of accidentally spraying extra solution and wasting it. And speaking of, the nozzle works so much better than other spray mops I’ve tried. As long as you aren’t tilting the mop’s arm too far backward, a single spray covers a decent amount of area.

It also picks up more dirt and debris. The microfiber pad, which sticks securely to the bottom of the mop, does a much better job of collecting hair. Afterwards, my floors are always left gleaming with no streaks or residue. I also can walk on my completely dry floor about a minute or two after use!

The Bona Spray Mop Air makes it so my gross New York City floors are spotless in a snap — and I can save money and space and cut down on waste in the process. It has so much to offer that its $25 price is a total bargain!
