Why You Should Use a Vintage Boot Rack in Your Kitchen (It’s Great Storage!)

When considering how to display your items in an organized yet stylish way, it’s sometimes fun and, maybe, necessary to think outside the box. Sometimes these solutions are unexpected, vintage finds for which you find a brand-new use. Take, for instance, an antique boot rack. One Instagram user found that it’s the perfect size and shape for displaying stemware, and now it’s a stunning feature in her family’s dining space.

“Add function and character to smaller spaces with the help of upcycled and repurposed pieces,” Whitney Leigh Morris wrote in a recent Instagram caption. “For example, we repurposed this salvaged boot rack into stemware storage on the narrow and multitasking wall that connects our entry zone/dining area/kitchen.”

Morris continued, “Considerations like this seem minor when viewed on their own, but they add up to help us fully use (and better enjoy!) all of our square footage without feeling cramped.”

You can keep your eye out for vintage boot racks at your local antique stores, or you can source them from sites like Etsy. Here are a pair of boot racks that would work great as stemware storage. You could also use them to hand wooden utensils, dish towels, or for their intended objects — boots!
