Season 4 of Netflix’s Bridgerton truly feels like a steamy and seductive Cinderella story of love. One of the locations where this seemingly out-of-body love story reaches a boiling point is in protagonist Benedict Bridgerton’s country estate, aptly named “My Cottage.” Benedict (Luke Thompson), the rakish, debonair leading man, and his romantic interest Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), find themselves alone at My Cottage due to an upset at Cavender House, and tensions become … well, many of you can guess (if you didn’t already binge!).

Turns out that My Cottage is not fictional as Bridgerton’s star-crossed romance — it’s actually set in Surrey Hills, England, and is known as Loseley Park. It is the most perfect idyllic backdrop for romance, and normally plays host to weddings and other extravagant banquets IRL. The best part? You can actually tour this stunning locale if you find yourself in the area.

Bridgerton’s Loseley Park Is a 16th-Century Private Family Home

Loseley Park was built during the Tudor period and has remained in the same family as a private estate for over 400 years, per the estate’s website. It was built by Sir William Moore at the end of the 16th century, and a descendant of Moore still owns and lives in the home today.

Even so, you can still plan a pilgrimage to Loseley Park during its routine weekly visiting hours to see grand architecture, some of which you’ve glimpsed in the Netflix hit. You’ll also see its sprawling gardens, which span over two acres and feature various “rooms” that have distinct plants and personality, according to the Visit Surrey website.

The estate hosted various royals throughout the years, with perhaps the most notable being James I. In fact, the family had an ornate ceiling commissioned for its formal Drawing Room specifically for the king’s stay. The home also houses George IV’s coronation chair, panels painted for Henry VIII’s banqueting tents, and cushions that were reportedly worked on by Elizabeth I.

And the rooms featured within My Cottage are set up nearly the same way as originally designed. It truly feels like you’re taking a step into hundreds of years of history when you enter the stately rooms.

Bridgerton filmed the My Cottage scenes over two weeks, and it was the perfect opportunity for Thompson and Ha to get to know each other. “It felt like summer camp filming it,” Ha said in an interview on Tudum.

You can learn more about visiting Loseley Park, including booking a stay, a wedding event, or checking out special events, on the estate’s website. You may just end up having your own magical encounter at My Cottage, too!
