I test a lot of bedding — and when it comes to bedding collabs, I’m convinced no one does it quite as masterfully as Brooklinen. I always look forward to its new releases. Typically the brand reintroduces its bestsellers in enticing new colors and prints that’ll instantly upgrade your bedscape. For its most recent collaboration, Brooklinen partnered with Brooklyn-based painter and textile designer Caroline Z. Hurley, who’s known for her handmade and travel-inspired textiles.

The new collection features summery colors and florals inspired by the mountains and ocean, as well as a stripe pattern in calming hues inspired by a Rothko painting. There’s much to love in the collection — especially when you consider that all of the pieces are made with cooling materials to keep you comfortable during the warmer months ahead.

I have my eye on a set of cooling linen sheets, which just so happen to be an Apartment Therapy staff favorite. I recommend you hurry and snag a set in your favorite colorway before the summer heatwave!

What Is the Caroline Z. Hurley Washed European Linen Core Sheet Set?

Brooklinen’s washed linen sheets are a fan-favorite, not to mention one of the best bedding investments you can make for summer or if you’re a hot sleeper year-round. Made from 100% European flax linen, the sheets are lightweight and breathable. Each set comes with a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. Oh, and they’re OEKO-TEX-certified, which means they’re free of harmful chemicals.

For the Caroline Z. Hurley collab, the linen core sheet set comes in three playful new stripe colorways, including Coral and Terra, Coral and Cream, and Agave and Terra, which personally reminds me most of this Rothko painting

To keep your linen sheets in top shape, wash them in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble-dry on low heat. Brooklinen has its own plant-based laundry detergent that’s compatible with the linen sheets, which get softer with every wash.

Why You’ll Love the Caroline Z. Hurley Washed European Linen Core Sheet Set

Although this sheet set tops my summer bedding wish list, you’d be remiss not to mix and match it with other pieces from the limited-edition collection. Imagine it with the coordinating striped lumbar pillow and a coral lightweight blanket — or go full pattern play by layering the stripes under a floral quilt.

Whichever combo you choose, these breezy buys are designed to keep you cool and sweat-free as temps climb. The only catch? The collection’s already selling fast. One of the floral duvet sets is fully sold out, but you can still snag the sheet set or stock up on stripes. Either way, your bed will be summer-ready — in both looks and comfort.
