Casting Call: Looking to Refresh Your Space After a Major Life Change?
Have you recently moved into a new house or signed a lease with a new roommate? We’re looking for three special readers who are navigating major life moments: new chapters, new challenges, and the home styling choices that come with them. These life milestones can be recently completed, currently underway, or in the works for the near future.
Our editors will provide the inspiration you need to create a home that fits your new life stage, with the help of decor selections from our brand partner — a major home retailer!

Project Overview
You can expect the project to take around three weeks to complete:
- 2 weeks for accepting packages/deliveries
- 1-2 days for professional stylists to complete in-home refresh
- 1 day for a professional in-store video shoot (up to 5 hours)
- Note: This day requires an early-morning call time (potentially 6 a.m. EST)
- 1 day for professional in-home photo shoot (up to 12 hours)
- All contractors — including stylists and photographers — will be professionals
- We will do our best to work with you to find a mutually convenient time to execute our projects; tentative timelines listed below
Tentative Project Timeline Overview
- Shoot window: February 2026
- Please note any conflicts/blackout dates within the month of February
Casting Requirements
- All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
- Home must be located within an hour of NYC Metro Area
- Space for makeover must have good natural light and home must be large enough to accommodate a crew
- Minimum 10×10 room for makeover area and home must be at least 800 square feet
- You agree to clear the featured areas of existing furniture and decor as requested. Unused items must be relocated to other areas of the home for the duration of the shoot
- You must be able to receive and store large packages for the makeover
- You will be asked to shoot “before” photos that may appear in content
- You may potentially need to remove all furniture from your space for the prep and shoot days
- While we do our best to take your style preferences into account, you will not have the final say in the selected product for your home
- You must be available for up to 12 hours on shoot days and open your home to our professional crew
- You WILL be on camera
- You must provide your own hair, makeup, and wardrobe.
- You must be willing to answer a few questions via email before and after the makeovers are complete for potential use in branded content
- You must be able to participate in an early morning shoot in NYC (potential 6 a.m. call time)
