A tiny bedroom can be a big challenge. There are a lot of things you need to fit into this little room, but you still want it to be a calm and restful space. If you’re lucky enough to have the freedom to make significant changes to your place, built ins can be a real lifesaver in a small bedroom, perfect for adding extra storage and functionality with a streamlined look. Here are 11 ideas.

Here’s a clever built-in from the folks at Assortment: a cabinet next to the bed that allows space for hanging clothe above,, storage below, and a nightstand in the middle, thanks to the little cut—out next to the bed.

This nightstand, from New York Cottages and Gardens, is actually a built-in that tucks into a wall right next to the bed — a great way to build a little functionaltiy into a small bedroom.

These niches next to the bed, seen on Refinery29, could also function as nightstands. The key to built-ins like this is that they fit into the wall space between the studs, so the structure of your house remains unchanged.
