Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I live alone and have created a space that feels good to me. Every wall and space is interesting, without feeling overwhelming or cluttered, and it’s warm without being stuffy. It’s colourful and reflects my dynamic taste. It also represents my need for function and organization. I wish you could smell it, it’s a mix of grapefruit, Bulgarian rose, and Assam tea.
I am a Gemini, and I love new experiences. I have tied my love for travel, literature, culinary arts, spirituality, music, horticulture, and design as cohesively as possible in this space place I call home; this space is a small insight into who I am.
I also hand painted my bedroom and front hall wall using small sample tubes of paint from Home Depot — a passion project that was a unique take for me, and have invested in great books, wallpaper art pieces, and technology that make living here both relaxing and functional.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Cozy, colourful, interesting, fresh, inviting
What is your favorite room and why? My bathroom, because it is the most eclectic space. I plastered the walls with Kate Zaremba wallpaper, and framed iconic images of powerful women who I get to be reminded of each time I’m in there. Not to mention, my gorgeous towels from Crate and Barrel.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? My thrifted glass vases and candlestick holders from Value Village. I bought candles from Yummi, and buy fresh flowers as frequently as need be. They inspired many a home of my friends and gained social media virality!
Any advice for creating a home you love? Let your space be a reflection of all the things you love in this beautiful thing called life. Be audacious and only invest bigger money on the things you consider timeless. Thrift what you can, Marketplace what you can, and have fun with it.
