From the moment I started remixing ramen noodles into gourmet meals and spending hours watching cooking shows as a puny six-year-old, I knew I found a deep passion for food. While I realized — after taking on a two-year high school internship in an award-winning kitchen — that a…read more

I’m almost hesitant to share this, but here it goes: I finally got a Costco membership. I know, I know — given that I’m a food writer who covers grocery news, I’m a bit late to the game. But after years of borrowing family and friends’ cards, I decided it was finally time to get my own. During my first trip to stock up, I immediately spotted the viral 16-piece dinnerware set everyone’s been chatting about on social media. And after seeing it in person, I definitely get the hype — it’s beautiful.

One of the first accounts I saw cover this viral gem was @costcofam4u, a digital creator on Instagram who specializes in Costco finds. Since then, this 16-piece dinnerware set has been popping up all over my Instagram and TikTok feeds, including on @costcobuys.

When I dug through the comment sections on posts about the new 16-piece dinnerware set from Costco, people were sharing positive feedback, with comments like, “Love it!” and reviews such as, “We have the tan version, and they’re great.”

The viral appeal of Costco’s new 16-piece dinnerware set likely stems from its price — just $39.99 in stores, which works out to less than $2.50 per dish. It’s an affordable option that’s getting a lot of attention on social media.

The 16-piece stoneware set, made by over&back — a dinnerware brand that supplies goods to major retailers like Target, Amazon, and Wayfair — includes dinner plates, salad plates, pasta bowls, and cereal bowls, and is designed to serve four people. They’re microwavable and dishwasher-safe, too.

If you’re having trouble finding it in stores, you can grab a similar product from Amazon. The Amazon version comes in a variety of sizes and colors, so you can customize it for your specific needs.

Costco hasn’t said whether the over&back 16-piece dinnerware set is limited-edition, so if you’re thinking about upgrading your kitchen with a new collection of dishes, it’s a good idea to grab it now — just in case it sells out.
