‘Tis the season for houseplants! Ficus plants and trees are officially back at Costco, and this new shipment of plants includes the fan-favorite fiddle leaf, which has become the white whale of many green thumbs out there. And the prices are definitely right, so now is the time to add a handful of ficus plants to your collection if you don’t have some already.

“Amazing deal on huge fiddle leaf figs & other ficus like Audrey, altissima, ruby, and tineke!” Samantha Hermann from House Plus Plant wrote in a recent caption, adding, “All @costco.”

“I got my tineke plant and it’s such large plant for a great price!” one person commented on Hermann’s post. Another said, “I love Costco plants! It’s like everything else there … LARGE quantity, small price!”

Others bonded in the comment section over how they’ve tried and failed to keep fiddle leaf fig trees (ficus Lyrata) alive in the past. It’s true that these plants require a bit more TLC than others out there — they like bright, indirect light; really good drainage; high-quality soil; and warm, humid environments. But for such a great price for a six-foot starter tree, you may be tempted to grab one of them from Costco to give growing one of these trees another try!

Costco Is Finally Selling Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees Again

While this shipment is new, these gorgeous trees have been a fan-favorite at Costco for a while. In 2024 I wrote about that year’s shipment and, at the time, one of the commenters mentioned that they had their tree for over three years. Today, they’re just under $55 in stores, but you can also buy them on Costco’s website for just under $100.

If your Costco is already out of stock, or if you want to start with a smaller size, The Home Depot has a 10-inch fiddle leaf available for just under $60. Although it’s a bit more expensive than the Costco version, this one comes in a beautiful white Ecopot that features a removable drain plug and is UV-resistant.

Even if you don’t want to tackle the fiddle leaf, you can check out all the other ficus varieties Costco now has in stock. Chances are you’ll find something you love and that you don’t already have in your collection. As if you needed another excuse to go plant shopping, right?
