I Saw That Costco Has This “Sleek, Everyday Staple” Backpack, and Now I Want One

Traveling is a wonderful way to see the world and have new experiences, but sometimes it can feel more like a big pile of logistics to sort through. There’s the planning of the trip — figuring out what you’re doing, how you’ll get there, and where you’ll stay — and then there’s packing for it. From tracking down travel-size toiletries to figuring out which clothes you’re actually going to wear, there’s a lot to figure out, but even the perfect packing list won’t be useful if you don’t have a good bag to put it all in. If you’re the type to go on short trips that only require a backpack, there’s a great one at Costco right now that combines durable quality with serious savings.

I first caught wind of the Hunter Top Clip Backpack in a video from Costco content creator @costcobuys, who shares that this “sleek, everyday staple” backpack is available in two colors for $49.99 each. There’s an all-black version with red zipper pulls and buttons, and a dusky green one with dark green accents. 

The backpacks have a blend of straps, buckles, and zippers. The main backpack component is square shaped, allowing for more storage, but the corners can be folded in and secured by a buckle, which makes it look more streamlined and chic. In addition to the main pocket, there’s a front zipper pocket (plus one in the interior) and two side pockets, and the exterior is water-resistant.

The Hunter bag’s design makes it a great choice for traveling, of course, but this spacious, sturdy backpack can be useful in so many other ways — like an everyday workbag or even as a diaper bag. I live in New York and often have a lot of projects and activities going on, so I could easily see myself using this on a busy day out.

It can be easy to forget if you shop there all the time, but not everyone has a Costco membership. (I don’t, simply because I don’t have a car and live much closer to a BJ’s.) If you’re one of those people and these Hunter Top Clip Backpacks have caught your eye, you can certainly still get your hands on one. 

There are Hunter Top Clip Backpacks available on Amazon, and you can choose from not just green and black but also “oyster” (a creamy ivory shade) and “wheat,” a light tan color with the same red accents as the black backpack. The biggest difference, however, is the price: At Costco, this backpack is $50, but at Amazon it’s $125. It is currently discounted to $110, but that’s still such a big difference you may consider picking up a Costco membership after all.
