In the last few years, LEGO has shown itself to be a toy company that’s truly for all ages. Maybe you spent your childhood building towers or abstract, colorful assemblages that only you understood, but there’s no law saying you have to stop engaging in this form of block-based creativity when you’re older. LEGO now has many more sophisticated sets aimed at adults, like a bouquet of LEGO flowers or a realistic-looking LEGO Star Wars Razor Crest

These grown-up LEGOs are kind of like 3D jigsaw puzzles, but when you’re done you have a decorative sculpture for your home. One of the latest LEGO sets celebrates the Year of the Horse with an assortment of horses galloping across an elaborate scroll. It’s so popular that the official LEGO site has it on backorder, but you can still find it at Costco.

What Is the LEGO Spring Festival Galloping Horses Canvas?

Designed for ages 10 and up, and inspired by traditional brush painting, the LEGO Spring Festival Galloping Horse Canvas comes with 1,650 LEGO bricks. With those bricks, you and your friends or family will create an eye-catching three-dimensional scene where a Chinese-inspired red and gold scroll unfurls and its four illustrated horses appear to come to life, galloping off the page. (The horses also actually “gallop,” thanks to a hand crank.) Nearby, two “minifigures” (aka small people-shaped pieces) watch the scene unfold. One is a festival-goer with black styled hair, and one is wearing a large horse mask and painting miniature scrolls.

The horses and printed canvas are meant to symbolize “strength, good fortune, and ‘success upon arrival’ in the New Year,” according to the LEGO website. One reviewer called it “a stunning object,” noting that it took them six hours to build (with breaks). This set is designed for one to three builders, and there’s a LEGO Builder app that can provide assistance if you need it. They also pointed out that “the mechanism that moves the horses was a little tricky, but really satisfying once I got it working. It’s a beautiful effect and a really eye-catching piece to have on your shelf after you build it. Highly recommend.”

But before you can actually build it, you have to acquire the set — and a video by @costcoaisles shows that the Galloping Horse set is currently in stock at Costco for $96.88, which is more than $10 cheaper than the LEGO website. However, considering its popularity, it might not last long — so move fast if you’re interested.

Another Place to Shop for This LEGO Set if You Can’t Go to Costco

If you don’t have a Costco membership, don’t worry — QVC also has the Galloping Horse LEGO set. At $122.99, QVC’s price is a bit higher than Costco’s, but it’s on sale right now for $108.98 — plus, you don’t even need to leave your house to get it.
