About a year-and-a-half ago, after a series of unfortunate events, Natasha Badger, a B2B marketer and content creator, had one of the most New York-coded fortuitous events that could happen: StreetEasy randomly presented her the perfect apartment.

While showing her friend the seemingly meager amount of options available, a 400-square-foot studio apartment in Manhattan appeared on her feed. “I was immediately attracted to the natural light, exposed brick, fake fireplace, and bedroom nook,” Natasha says. “I submitted the application and requested a tour on the spot.”

On Monday Natasha toured the apartment, and by that Friday she signed the lease. Even though she described the initial space as “dark and dirty and gross,” she still saw it as a blank canvas. She grew up between Denmark and America, and she wanted to infuse her background into the new apartment.

Throughout her time living there, Natasha has filled the home with Georg Jensen and Royal Copenhagen pieces, as well as Facebook Marketplace finds. While she incorporated her heritage, she also wanted to honor her personal growth in the design. “My home now feels like a part of me and a reflection of who I’ve become over the past almost three years living in NYC,” she says.
