I Tried the “It Girl” of Flower Delivery Services, and It’s the Only One I Want to Use from Now On
Not all flower delivery services are created equal. Of the handful I’ve tried over the years, the results were hit or miss when I took into account every aspect of the process, from shipping and delivery to the actual quality of the flowers. One recurring disappointment was the presentation of the arrangement upon delivery.
Of course, you usually have to doll up the flowers a bit upon reception before you can gift them. But if you’re having a bouquet sent to a loved one’s house instead of yours, it should look good from the very beginning, when it’s set on their doorstep or inside their mail room.
Recently, I had a bouquet delivered from Fresh Sends, and I’m happy to report that the process was seamless from start to finish. Sure, it was fun to send myself flowers just because, but I’ll definitely be using the service again for gifting purposes.
What Is Fresh Sends?
The premise behind Fresh Sends’ floral arrangements is that the bouquets are made using seasonal blooms, and they’re meant to look like they were just picked up from your local flower market. I noticed that right away when I received the brand’s most popular arrangement, The Send. It looked beautiful with its medley of roses, alstroemeria, asters, and filler flowers, but there was also a hard-to-achieve artisanal quality to it; it didn’t look store-bought or overly perfect.
I ordered my bouquet with a code that covered the regular size with no vase. The Send also comes in a mini and full size, and you can upgrade your order by adding a fluted, bubble, or pedestal vase, as well as other goodies, like candy or the brand’s signature perfume. I scheduled the delivery for a week out, but Fresh Sends offers both expedited delivery and rush delivery, which is handy for last-minute gifting.
Although the exact bouquet I got is not available to arrive in time for Mother’s Day, Fresh Sends has a dedicated Mother’s Day shop of arrangements that will. You can also check out its other giftable arrangements here; there’s something for graduations, birthdays, somber occasions, and more.
Why I Love Fresh Sends
When I got the delivery notification for my arrangement (right on time, might I add), I went down to my package room and picked up the box. I opened it in my apartment and was immediately delighted by the explosion of color inside. Not only was the box itself way cuter than your average delivery box, but the flowers were wrapped in mock-newspaper packaging, which added to their breezy, handpicked aesthetic.
I unwrapped the flowers, trimmed the bottoms of their stems a little bit, and placed them in a vase with filtered water. The day I received them, I didn’t notice any wilted blossoms. I ended up keeping my bouquet proudly displayed on my entryway table for two weeks, and I’d snip drooping flowers every couple of days. Even after some of the filler flowers had dried out completely, the bouquet still looked presentable.
If you’re looking for the perfect floral gift or you want to send yourself a bouquet just because, I definitely recommend giving Fresh Sends a try. The process is fuss-free, and I have a feeling that you’ll fall in love with your order the second it arrives at your home, just like I did.
