I’ve lived in quite a few apartments over the past few years, and I’ve never had a bathroom with enough storage space. In my experience, it usually takes a good amount of TLC to make a bathroom to hold all of my stuff. I’m a renter, so I rely on under-sink organizers, a rolling cart, a towel rack, and more to keep it from unraveling into a cluttered mess.

I wish I could add an over-the-toilet shelving unit to the mix, but my bathroom has always been too cramped even for that. I ended up biting the bullet and drilling a medicine cabinet into the wall above my toilet — which will be a pain to remove eventually — which is why I wish I’d spotted this Amazon organizer sooner. For $24, this find creates storage out of thin air while taking up zero square footage.

What is the Godboat 2-Tier Over-Toilet Storage Bathroom Organizer?

If you don’t have enough counter space for all of your essentials but you want certain items to remain within reach, then this toilet tank shelving unit is the answer. There’s a single-tier and three-tier option as well, so you can choose the one that best suits your storage needs. Regardless of which one you choose, it’ll stay secure on your toilet tank thanks to the two long legs on the back. It comes with two adhesive hooks for that purpose, too, and they attach to the top of the tank for stability.

It comes in black and white, so you can choose an option that best matches the rest of your bathroom. You can jazz it up and put a few decorative items on the top shelf, or you can dedicate the shelves entirely to utility, holding things like extra toilet paper, bottles, and tissues. Hanging S-hooks off of the metal rods will squeeze even more storage out of it — but it already has a nifty toilet paper holder that extends from the side!

If you have a more natural look going on in your bathroom, there’s also a stylish bamboo alternative available at Amazon. Just keep in mind that though it comes with adhesive stickers and hardware for mounting it onto the wall, it doesn’t share the legs that give the other a bit more steadiness.

What Amazon Shoppers Are Saying

Average Rating: 4.4/5

“I recently installed a new toilet and with the flusher being on top, the items pictured would get knocked off from time to time. This shelf completely eliminates that problem.” —Alexis Hull

“I had it assembled in minutes, and it stays in place well. Solid construction and holds a fair amount of things. I have two full size lotions, a large Q-tip container, a brush, and some small bottles of air freshener on it and a small bin with headbands and hair ties under it. It stays in place well and is super sturdy.” —Jennifer712

“I was worried buying this [thinking] it would fall apart quickly, but I’ve had it for almost a year now. It’s very sturdy [and] easy to clean, and [it] gave us so much more storage in the bathroom. Definitely follow directions assembling — nearly put the thing together backwards.” — Laura

If one day you move into a place with more than enough bathroom storage — is there such a thing? — one of the other great parts about this organizer is that it can function on pretty much any flat surface. It can become shelving on your desk or vanity or be mounted on the wall of your kitchen. There’s basically no way you won’t make good use out of this gem.
