I’m obsessed with my grill. I bought it three years ago as a birthday/just got dumped present (yes, both happened the same week), and since owning it I’ve learned just how easy grilling is and how much I love it. My kids and I eat more vegetables and lean meats during the grilling months and I’m more likely to actually make myself dinner, not rely on kid leftovers for my meals. But maintaining my grill is an all-year occurrence, which is why a grill cover is so essential for protecting it.

When choosing a grill cover, I first looked at what was available for my particular grill, a Weber Spirit II E-210. Then I narrowed my search to ones with good ratings for weather protection, a reasonable price, and overall good reviews. I decided on this Grisun 7138 Premium Grill Cover, and it’s held up great these last three years.

What Is the Grisun 7138 Premium Grill Cover?

The Grisun 7138 Premium Grill Cover measures 48 inches long, 17.8 inches wide, and 42 inches high, and it’s made to fit Weber Spirit II 200 and Spirit 200 Series 2 Burner gas grills, as well as Weber Spirit II E210, S210, and 215 gas grills. It’s made of a polyester with vinyl material that’s waterproof and durable against fading. There’s a handle, Velcro straps, and an air vent to prevent moisture and condensation.

Why I Love the Grisun 7138 Premium Grill Cover

Every spring I lovingly (exaggeration) clean the grill, check the propane levels, and gather my tools. I’ll frequently cover and uncover the grill during the season as the spring weather changes so much. Once May rolls around, the beautiful cottonwood in the woods behind my house dumps cotton snow all over and, in June, a greenish pollen covers everything. Then, in the fall, I cover it up and leave it through the winter (which brings heavy rain, snow, hail, and ice). Covering the grill keeps it safe from all these elements and cuts down on how much overall cleaning I have to do.

The Grisun 7138 Premium Grill Cover is waterproof and, after using it for several years, I can confirm that it keeps the grill dry and covered. If it had faded in the sun a bit, I would have forgiven it because that’s not the purpose of the product, but after three years of exposure, the black hasn’t faded one bit.

To save space, the grill cover works with the side shelf of the grill collapsed, but I was relieved to see that I could pop the whole cover over the fully extended grill. There are Velcro straps to help secure the cover tightly in either position, which keeps it on in all manner of windy, severe weather. There are air holes which help keep the cover on when it’s windy and also allow for ventilation so moisture can’t get trapped on the grill and lead to rusting.

While the story of how I got my grill and its cover is somewhat bittersweet, having a working, functional way to cook outside has brought me years of joy.
