This Harry Potter Classroom Will Make You Feel Like a Student at Hogwarts
In this muggle world, there are Harry Potter fans, and then there are Potterheads. And in the case of third grade teacher Tressa Bargella, her classroom layout makes it very clear where her wizarding loyalty lies.
This year, Bargella decided to transform her classroom into Hogwarts 2.0, ultimately making her lucky students wizards-in-training.
When approaching the classroom, you feel like you’re walking through Platform 9 3/4 with brick exterior and luggage perched in the corner. Once inside, black footprint stickers are displayed across the white floor, with a coat rack and sign that states “free invisibility cloaks.” How brilliant is that?
And that’s just the beginning.
Each student’s cubbies are marked with a name card designed with Harry glasses. There’s also a behavior chart that ranges from “Prefect” (role-model behavior) to “Azkaban” (see the principal) displayed against a closet door, with movable close-pins that has the name of each student on it.
Wall decor displays the classroom anthem with a Hogwarts style, ending in “We remember that happiness can be found even in the darkest of times because in this classroom we always do our best.”
In one corner, there’s a cozy-meets-rustic setup, mimicking a common room. A wooden table is decorated with a lantern in the middle near a brick “fireplace,” where Sirius Black’s face could emerge any minute.
“The Owlery” is where important documents (homework and the latest school events) fly into their slots for each little wizard, with a Hedwig stuffed animal perched at the top. And the removable brick wallpaper, Hogwarts flags, and Daily Prophet clippings makes for nice wall art that adds to the magical ambience.
And if you still somehow doubt Bargella’s commitment to everything Hogwarts, just take a look at her Instagram, where her bio reads: “@Hogwarts wasn’t hiring so I teach 3rd Grade wizards.”
