HAY Launches a Kitchen Line at MoMA
While we’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of HAY’s collaboration with IKEA (due in stores this October!), the Danish brand has some more great news: They just launched a collection of kitchen items, and they’re available as of today at the MoMA store.
HAY Kitchen Market is a curated collection of essentials from HAY’s co-founder Mette Hay. She enlisted the help of Danish chef and restaurateur Frederik Bille Brahe to handpick items that are “the most useful and vital” for today’s kitchen. (HAY previously partnered with Chef Brahe on a pop up cafe at Milan Design Week in 2016, according to Architectural Digest.)
The line includes a full range of tabletop items such as dishware, glassware, and cutlery, to serving, storing and prep pieces like cutting boards, picnic tins, and pitchers. There are also pots, pans, graters, and peelers for everyday cooking.
Products were sourced globally, like handmade glasses from Morocco, water pitchers from India, sponges from Japan and soap from France, although “everything has been specially selected, reconsidered or reinvented for the collection,” HAY says.
While selected items will be available online (though currently only the Woods mug and the pepper grinder as of press time), there’s a MoMA store pop up shop that opened today in SoHo featuring the collection. We took a peek inside:
Here are a few of our top picks from the line:
Pastel hued and swirled plates and bowls
Textured cutting boards in various shapes, sizes, and colors
Color blocked tea pots and creamer pitchers
Playful sponges sourced from Japan
Stackable stainless steel picnic tins (that are also great for leftovers and lunch boxes)
Stainless and gold toned flatware (for “Everyday” and “Sunday”)
Pretty pitchers that you’ll want to leave out on the counter
Sleek pepper grinders and grooved cutting boards that catch the crumbs
