Working in an art gallery and having a natural talent for decorating, Morgane’s apartment is a true reflection of herself and her love for art. The space is airy, well balanced, delicate, monochromatic, with a touch of natural tones, unique pieces and personal touches. For her, everything resides in the small details. She puts great care on choosing each piece that she brings into her home. For Morgane “an apartment is a white canvas, a white wall to life.”
Morgane’s inspiration for decorating is visual art. She loves to talk about art and share her passion with others. She loves to share new artists to the people she meets. She owns a few pieces of her favorite artists such as Richard Cloutier, Tammy Salzl, André Jasmin and Claude Vermette.
She is definitely creative when it comes to decorating and designing her space. Only six months after moving in, her apartment looks so so good and genuinely personal! She even creates her own little aromatherapy mixtures using flowers, leaves and essential oil!
Apartment Therapy Survey:
Our Style: I like white, clean and airy spaces. For me an apartment is a white canvas, a white wall to life. My decoration is always changing and evolving. I like to move objects, frames, plants, books around…depending on my mood! I like it lively! I chose timeless furniture, neutral but I’m much more eclectic in the choice of objects that surround me. I also like to bring nature inside, dried flowers in winter, vegetables, fruit on the counter … and summer flowers, flowers and more flowers ! 🙂
Inspiration: Visual art! I work in a gallery and I studied Fine Art. My dream is to live surrounded by artworks (and have a huge library!). I slowly but surely started my collection. This is a good topic of conversation when I have people and friends over for the first time. I like to talk about each artists’ work that I have decided to showcase on my wall. Everyone is interested and I love to share my passion for art.
Favorite Element: Shelf “stairs of New York” (from VdeV )
Biggest Challenge: To make believe that the space is bigger than it actually is (I live in a small apartment so everything must be in its place!)
What Friends Say: My friends often tell me that I should be a designer!
Biggest Embarrassment: My parents will be visiting this summer and I’m afraid my dad will not be able to move freely in my small and narrow bathroom 😉 haha
Proudest DIY: I love aromatherapy and I create my own little mixtures to diffuse around my apartment. My favorite mixture: lavender, eucalyptus and neroli 🙂
Biggest Indulgence: Fresh flowers during summertime!
Best Advice: Try to find unique and original deco items at flea market Saint- Michel!
