After spending nearly a decade living in the great cities of Montreal and New York, Signy recent returned home to Toronto. Condo development has skyrocketed in the city, making it one of the more popular residential options in Canada. At first hesitant to make the move, Signy came around to the idea and really enjoys living in her one-bedroom condo. The space was a clean slate and after a few personal touches were added, feels like home.
Signy’s furniture is a mix of modern, modest, well-made, and handmade pieces. She’s not afraid to invest in furniture that she knows will last many years, if not decades, and style-wise, this certainly pays off. Signy’s style is adventurous yet minimal. Her decor is centered around her interest in modern art and her love of traveling. Many of the items, from small (neat art trinkets on the TV console) to large (giant mirror in the office), are gifts received over the years. It’s these elements that give the space its personality. It is easy to fall into the condo trap where everything looks the same as your neighbors’ places. However, with some careful curating and a good an eye for modern design, Signy has consciously created a space that reflects her personal style and interests.
