A Modern and Minimal Kit Home Is the Embodiment of Hygge

Sean and Christen are down-to-earth, easygoing people who like to wear matching sweaters. Lucy is their adorable rescue dog. And they all share a gorgeous modern home surrounded by even more stunning nature. Beyond just beautiful, the house is also very personal to the couple, as well: Karcher is the founder and designer at Hygge Supply and their home is the original concept house by the company, delivered as a pre-fabricated kit of materials.

Though technically a “pre-fab” home, Karcher prefers the term “kit home,” a phrase that often conjures up images of retro Sears kit homes. Like the Sears houses, Hygge Supply homes offer the convenience of a pre-fab home, but they stand apart from others on the market today due to their commitment to sustainable practices and materials, as well as an aesthetic that is a perfect mix of modern minimalism and comfy warmth. Karcher’s is the perfect example of his company’s mission: It’s a home that’s minimal, but also comfortable, warm, and lets nature take center stage.
