These IKEA Kitchen Storage Gems Are So Cute and Colorful

My kitchen cabinet is bursting at the seams with spice bottles of various heights. Every time I take one out, two others fall out because of the perpetual disorderly mess. That’s why I’ve been looking for storage boxes to better organize my spices, and I’ve been quite picky. I want the containers to be visually appealing, and I would like to avoid plastic, but I worry that glass boxes would break. Which is why when I spotted the limited-edition IKEA 365+ Food Storage Baskets in bright hues of yellow and green, I instantly knew they would be perfect for my needs.

These metal baskets don’t have the bamboo lid characteristic of the originals (often used for fruits, vegetables, or bread), but their sturdy, mesh design is ideal for cabinet organization. I especially appreciate that they’re durable and functional. 

Moreover, the new, limited-edition colors make simple storage chic. They’re also available in two convenient dimensions: a smaller size measuring 5 1/2” x 5 1/2” x 3 7/8” and a larger one at 11 3/4” x 7 7/8” x 4 3/8”. These two sizes are great for stacking and organizing spice bottles and other food items of varying heights, so I can finally bring order to my chaotic kitchen cabinets.

The vibrant hues of these storage baskets have given me other ideas on how to use them around my home. While they would make a great storage solution for my spices, I feel like they’d also be great for onions, potatoes, or other foods that don’t need to be refrigerated but benefit from airflow. Beyond the kitchen, a bright yellow basket will be perfect for holding small items like coasters and TV remotes in the living room. 

I plan on using the green one on my bedroom’s dressing table to neatly store small accessories, like jewelry, hair brushes, and perfume bottles. Their modern design aesthetic works perfectly with my home’s contemporary style, and they add a vibrant pop of color to its otherwise muted color scheme.
