IKEA Is Selling These “Rustic” Ceramic Jars for Only $8 (They Work in Every Room!)
The last few weeks of winter (before spring cleaning season starts!) is my ideal time to declutter my existing storage and organizers, figure out what I’m missing, and replace any essentials that I need — ideally with a fun pop of spring color. If you’re looking to bring the “dopamine decor” trend into your home — or just level up your ugly plastic containers — I’m obsessed with IKEA’s new all-purpose ceramic jars. They have a gorgeous, homemade aesthetic that’ll bring a vibrant mix of coastal and farmhouse elements to any room for under $8.
IKEA’s new BRUGDHAJ jar is a gorgeous “rustic” storage jar that comes in a radiant blue or an earthy tan colorway. It doubles as both intentional decor and functional storage.
The earthy molten indigo blue glazed jar — which comes with a rustic cork lid for easy storage — looks hand-crafted and significantly more expensive than its $7.99 price tag, and it’s so versatile for every room in your home.
With the ability to hold 34 ounces, the IKEA canister’s 4.75” height and 5” diameter makes it just the right size for holding flour, tea leaves or bags, oatmeal, granola, nuts, and other similar dried foods on your countertop. Personally, I’ll be swapping out my current clear coffee and sugar containers for these glazed ceramic options to make my designated coffee corner look straight out of Pinterest.
While the glazed interior of the BRUGDHAJ jar means you can also use it for storing fresh spices or even potting a plant by your windowsill, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to use.
You could use it to display a bouquet of spring tulips on your coffee table or kitchen counter; hold Sharpies and pens on your work-from-home desk; store tampons, Q-tips, and bobby pins in your bathroom; or to keep lip gloss, mascara, and other makeup in one place. Crafters can also fill it with beads, yarn, or other art materials.
With its airtight lid, the ceramic BRUGDHAJ jar can basically swap out a lot of your existing organizers — and it’s an especially great budget-friendly option if you’re trying to cut down on plastic containers.
As a bonus, the IKEA website mentioned that the new style matches with IKEA’s GLADELIG collection, which means you can coordinate your new canisters with bowls, trays, baking dishes, plates, mugs, and more in the same color.
One caveat: Keep in mind that this item is unavailable for delivery through IKEA’s website (unless you have a larger order you want to add on to), but you can check to see where it’s in stock for pickup at your closest IKEA location.
