If you have a kitchen full of clutter and out-of-date supplies, then it won’t feel very exciting to make a meal for yourself — much less a big feast for your loved ones this upcoming holiday season. So, amidst all your gift and decor shopping, don’t be afraid to treat yourself to something practical, like these new IKEA organizers that would be perfect for your kitchen counters.

What Are the New IKEA CHOKLADHAJ Kitchen Organizers?

These kitchen organizers are the two newest additions to IKEA’s CHOKLADHAJ line, which consists of functional items for your kitchen and dining room. They’re all designed simply from unpainted solid pine, so the wood’s light, rustic color is very much showcased. The two new additions are a set of food storage boxes and a countertop organizer.

The food storage boxes come in a set of two for $14.99 and are designed for “storing fruits and vegetables that thrive at room temperature,” per IKEA’s website. The boxes are stackable; each measures about 7 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and 9 inches long. One side of the box is raised, so you can store taller items in it like butternut squash and bananas without them falling out.

The countertop organizer retails for $7.99 and measures about 6 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 7 inches deep. It has two tall, narrow storage areas designed for spatulas, ladles, and other long, slender items, and one wider area for spice jars and bottles.

Because these organizers are so basic and minimalist, they can be used in all sorts of ways. The kitchen countertop organizer could also find a great home at your dining table as a place to store commonly used items like napkins and condiments. The food storage boxes can easily function as all-purpose storage boxes, and the fact that they stack makes them ideal for small spaces.

An Alternative Food Storage Basket to Shop if You Don’t Live Near IKEA

There are a lot of IKEA locations out there, but I understand if you don’t want to make the trek or pay for delivery. Sure, you can’t get these exact IKEA kitchen organizers anywhere else, but there are similar options, like this tiered wooden fruit basket from Amazon for $29.99.

Unlike IKEA’s version, the two boxes cannot be separated, although it does come in both two-tier and three-tier designs. Plus, if you’re not a big fan of the light wood, the Amazon version comes in five other neutral, rustic shades.
