Whenever I go on vacation I leave home with a neatly packed suitcase. But then when I look for different outfits on my trip, my suitcase turns into an unnavigable mess. By the time I roll it back home, it’s even worse. I decided that I needed to find a way to keep my clothes better organized.

I saw people on social media use plastic zip bags to keep clothes organized; however, I wanted bigger bags to separate different garments and clean and dirty clothes. Reusable would be even better.

On an unrelated quest for kitchen pans, I went on a trip to IKEA and I spotted the GÖRSNYGG Storage Case. They cost just $2.49 each, so I couldn’t resist grabbing a bunch of them to take back. I thought they’d fit perfectly in my suitcase — and I was right.

Why IKEA’s GÖRSNYGG Storage Case Is Perfect for Travel

My favorite thing about the GÖRSNYGG Storage Case is how ultra-spacious it is. The clear case measures 22 inches in width, 7 inches in height, and 19 inches in depth. I like to use two in my suitcase and fold them in half, as filling each bag to the max would take up too much space in the suitcase. Normally, I have bags specifically for shirts, pants, dresses, and shoes, which makes it easy to find what I want. This still leaves space for other items like makeup and underwear.

I love the fact that they zip open at the top across three of the sides, which allows for speedy access. Gone are the days of throwing everything out to find a garment, and then hastily putting everything back in once I located it. Plus, because the case is clear, you can see what’s inside immediately. This makes putting together cute outfits much easier.

I use one bag solely for laundry, so I can fill it up as I go along, and then throw everything in the washing machine when I’m home. Before using these bags, I’d leave my suitcase in my spare room for weeks on end before unpacking it.

Not only are they a winner on the size front, but they are also amazingly strong and can handle the weight of a lot of clothes. I have been using them for two years now, and I haven’t had to replace them once.

In fact, I’ve ended up buying more. The case’s rectangular shape makes it brilliant for suitcases, but also for storing garments in closets and under the bed. The handles allow for easy carrying, too.

These cases are easy to clean, which is useful when I’ve been lounging on sandy beaches or hiking up mountains. I shake any dirt out of them in my backyard and then wipe the inside and the outside with a microfiber cloth and disinfectant spray.

An Alternative to the IKEA GÖRSNYGG Storage Case

If you can’t find these at IKEA or don’t happen to live near a store, then you can shop on Amazon for some similar finds instead. IKEA’s DIMPA Storage Bag is available for purchase there; it’s comparable to the GÖRSNYGG, as it’s a clear large storage bag with handles.
