IKEA Quietly Released the Coolest Mid-Century Modern-Inspired Table Lamp (It’s Perfect for Every Space!)

It’s no secret that IKEA is one of the best places to buy inexpensive home decor. Whether you want to furnish a college dorm, a first apartment, or a forever home, the retailer is a one-stop shop for all of the essentials (and nonessentials) you could ever need for a space. 

When browsing through the physical and virtual IKEA marketplace, I’m always so impressed by all of the budget-friendly (but expensive-looking) home decor. Lately I’ve noticed a bit of a resemblance to finds from luxury brands like House of Hackney or Artemest — including a tabletop lamp I’m convinced would be sold for five times the price. 

At first glance, the IKEA STOCKHOLM Lamp looks like something straight out of a fancy catalog. It has a sleek retro column shape and is completely constructed from linen fabric, so the whole piece glows when it’s lit up. The lamp also comes in two colorways, including a fun and funky print that resembles a forest scene with wildflowers and mushrooms, and a solid mustard yellow hue that you could leave as is or add some DIY detailing to (like fabric trim around the lampshade’s base). 

This IKEA lamp has a mid-century modern feel with a touch of ​​Josef Frank vibes — at least in the case of the patterned version. However, the design is versatile enough to layer well with various home decor styles, including eclectic, traditional, minimalist, and even farmhouse. Its versatility also makes it an excellent match for any room in the home, including the foyer (it’d look so chic on top of a reclaimed wood or marble entryway table), living room, and bedroom. If you have the space for it, the lamp would also look cute on top of a kitchen countertop layered with books and knickknacks.
