As a night owl who struggles to doze off after spending hours scrolling Pinterest, one of my new year’s resolutions has been to improve my sleep hygiene by cutting down on screentime before bedtime and first thing in the morning. My ultimate goal of making my bedroom a completely screen-free space isn’t as easy as it sounds, however, especially since I still need something to help me wake up in the morning.

So far, I’ve been unlucky in looking for a new alarm clock. Did I want something smart, like a Hatch alarm clock, or did I want to go truly screen-free with a basic alarm clock? Well, it might be time to finally kick my phone out of my room for good because IKEA is now selling the cutest vintage alarm clock in 2025’s trendiest color — and it’s cheaper than a cup of coffee.

At just $4.99, IKEA’s TJINGA Alarm Clock is a butter yellow bedside accessory that immediately transports me back to the simpler times of my childhood and tween years with its retro appearance. Measuring 3.25 inches in height and length with a depth of 2 inches, the compact square alarm clock features an asymmetrical curved shape on its right side above the delightfully retro speaker at the bottom corner.

The butter yellow clock also gets a fun, high-contrast pop of color with a bright red “snooze” button — a much more satisfying alternative than tapping your phone screen to get five more minutes of sleep — as well as black, red, and white arrows on the clock interface. Plus, reviewers noted that the alarm clock’s loudness is “good and increases in volume and rapid repetition” over time to make sure you actually wake up.

As an added bonus, the clock is battery-operated (either rechargeable or AA alkaline batteries that are sold separately), meaning you never have to worry about having your own Home Alone power outage moment, which is one reason I’ve been a little scared to go full alarm clock myself.

If you’re not a fan of the butter yellow color, the TJINGA Alarm Clock — which you can get delivered or pick up from your closest IKEA location — also comes in a slate-like turquoise hue that’s labeled as “last chance to buy.”

Not only is its $4.99 price tag hard to beat, but customers are already raving over the “very cute” alarm clock design, calling out the IKEA find’s “portable (small size)” and “cute colors.” It’s the perfect accessory for a small bedside table, adding a pop of fun color while helping you actually stick to that resolution of keeping your bedroom a phone-free space.
