IKEA’s New Candleholders Look Like Cute Mini Pool Floats (They’re Less Than $5!)
It’s finally spring (and starting to feel like it), but I’m already looking forward to summer. Part of my excitement is thanks to my two latest discoveries while hunting for seasonal decor in IKEA’s new products: the TRÄDSTAM Pillar Candleholder and Tealight Candleholder.
At $5 for the pillar candleholder and $3 for the tealight version, these finds look like chic mini pool floats. Now I can’t stop dreaming about a nautical al fresco tablescape that’s accentuated by these.
Resembling inflated swimming rings with thick vertical stripes, the TRÄDSTAM Pillar Candleholder and Tealight Candleholder are where the coastal grandmother aesthetic meets dopamine decor. Although they share the same circular shape, the pillar candleholder comes in a coral-and-white colorway, while the tealight holder comes in a more classic blue-and-white combination.
Candles aside, these objects can also double as striking catchalls on entryway or coffee tables, kitchen counters, or desks. Their bubbled silhouettes and bold, bright stripes might just be the best visual reminder of where you set tiny, loose items down, if you often find yourself losing things like your keys and spare change.
Considering their low cost and versatility, I’m convinced these candleholders would also make for a great, affordable housewarming gift for candle enthusiasts. You could also buy one for a plant parent in your life — especially the pillar design that’s a bit bigger. Placing an herb or little succulent in one of these would be an ideal way to dress up a plain plastic pot or planter. With the same lively cabana stripe pattern that swimming floats often have, these new IKEA candleholders are guaranteed to lighten the mood in any environment (on land, that is). Shop these pieces now to get in on the pre-summer pool-float fun! And summer, if you’re listening, please hurry up!
