IKEA Is Selling Mini Christmas Trees for Only $20, and They’re Perfect for Small Spaces
Between holiday planning and all the store window displays, it currently feels like it’s Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all at once — and don’t even get me started on Daylight Saving Time. Decking out your home with holiday cheer can be one of the highlights of the season, but it can also be a huge source of stress. Thankfully, there are ways to get your house, no matter its size, looking seasonally fabulous without getting too bogged down by chores and tasks. Case in point: this reliable new artificial Christmas tree from IKEA.
What Is the IKEA VINTERFINT Artificial Potted Plant?
Last year’s IKEA VINTERFINT collection included several festive offerings, from a poinsettia throw blanket to a traditional Swedish horse figurine. It also included this charmingly petite artificial Christmas tree, which is back at IKEA this year in multiple sizes. This particular version, available both in-store and online, measures just six inches in diameter and 37.5 inches tall (so it’s just a little over three feet tall). It retails for $19.99.
This IKEA tree is made from plastic, but it’s designed to look “lifelike,” and at least 50% of it “comes from recycled materials.” It comes in a basic pot, but if you’d like to jazz things up a bit you can get a matching green ceramic pot for $9.99, which is also part of the IKEA Vinterfint collection.
Why I Love This Mini Christmas Tree from IKEA
If you’re looking for an affordable, small-space-friendly fake Christmas tree, it’s really hard to find anything of better value. It’s also an artificial potted plant that could, theoretically, find a place within your home year-round.
If you decorate this mini tree with ornaments and lights, you could always take them off in time for New Year’s so it feels more like a touch of low-maintenance greenery than something overtly associated with a holiday. After all, when I interviewed a home stager about her favorite finds from IKEA, she mentioned multiple faux plants, and reviewers on IKEA’s website say this is the “best mini tree [they’ve] ever bought.”
If you do only want to bring these little trees out for the month of December, that’s OK too. An artificial tree is nice because it doesn’t shed pine needles or get brown and crispy, but this specific artificial tree from IKEA has the bonus of being relatively small. So when it comes time to put it away until next year, you won’t have to struggle to find a place for it.
