Not only does an organized entryway make a good impression for anyone coming into your home, but it also plays a crucial role as the command center for everything you need before you head out the door. Here’s how to achieve this and make it your own.
Day 17: Set up a home landing strip.
A home “landing strip” (aka a command center) will be the first thing you see when you come home, so it should be located by the door you frequent the most — that can be your front door, a side door, or the garage door.
The components of a landing strip include any of the following items, but you’ll want to aim to have at least three of them:
- A mirror for last-minute looks
- A surface, such as a console table, shelf, or side table
- A bowl or container for your loose change, wallet, and keys
- Wall hooks for your keys, outerwear, bags, and umbrella
- A shoe rack to hold footwear
- A basket or trash can
- A rug or mat
- A shoe rack to hold footwear
Share how you put together your home landing strip in the community forum.
