Kate Hudson Has an Unexpected (and Practical!) Feature Above Her Kitchen Island
Admittedly, I will stop and ogle at anything that is sparkly and shiny, but I wasn’t expecting to be stopped in my tracks while watching an Instagram video of Kate Hudson’s kitchen. In the video, Hudson and her son unwrap wildfire recovery merch from Paliskates, a local skate shop that was destroyed in the Palisades wildfire. The video is touching, but I’ll be honest: I was also struck by the rack of copper cookware above the kitchen island.
Where you might usually see a lighting fixture, Hudson has installed a brass pot rack loaded with polished copper cookware. It’s completely timeless — copper cookware has been used and displayed similarly in kitchens for hundreds of years — and the copper hue brings a warmth to the space. And you don’t need extra light when you have such high-shine finishes on every single piece.
Looking at older pics from inside Hudson’s kitchen, it looks like these pots and pans (there’s even a copper watering can) are likely just display-only judging by just how pristine they are. But you can re-create the look using affordable and practical copper pieces, too. Hanging cookware from a pot rack is an especially great idea if you’re working with limited cabinet space.
Where to Buy Copper Pots and Pans Like Kate Hudson’s
This set of hammered copper cookware from Gotham Steel is priced at just under $130 on Amazon right now. The set comes with two frying pans, two sauce pans, and a Dutch oven, all featuring a gorgeous hammered copper exterior and a nonstick ceramic coating interior.
You can also look for copper pots and pans at secondhand and antique stores if you want to source pieces that are a bit more old world-style. They may need a bit of elbow grease and polish to really shine like Hudson’s, but that hard work will absolutely pay off.
Add a little glitz and glimmer to your kitchen with Kate Hudson-inspired copper cookware and, like me, your guests may actually stop in the tracks just to ooh and ahh.
