Keebler Just Dropped a Brand-New Cookie Flavor, and People Are Buying 2 Packages at a Time
Just like Chipwiches (there’s now a Thin Mint version!), Rice Krispies Treats, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Keebler’s E.L. Fudge cookies were a quintessential part of my childhood. They’re whimsical, playful, and just downright delicious! After all, what’s better than chocolate fudge sandwiched between two shortbread cookies? Well, judging by the brand-new flavor that just hit grocery store shelves, Keebler certainly has some ideas.
Grab your keys and head to the supermarket ASAP, because Keebler’s new E.L. Fudge Choco Vanilla sandwich cookies look nothing short of delicious. Just like the original E.L. Fudge cookies, they’re sandwich cookies shaped like cute little Keebler elves, also known as Elfwich Cookies. But, from a flavor standpoint, they’re the exact opposite of the original.
“Looks like the wrong lever was pulled and our original E.L. Fudge cookie is now “flipped”! Introducing the E.L. Fudge Choco Vanilla cookie, featuring a chocolatey cookie outside and vanilla-flavored creme filling!” said Keebler in the caption of a recent Instagram post.
Naturally, fans of the classic Keebler cookie couldn’t wait to get their hands on the new variety, and they were even more excited to share their thoughts. “I just bought these last week at Kroger and they are amazing!” wrote one Instagram user. “I can attest they are amazing,” wrote another.
Originally introduced in 1986, the original E.L. Fudge cookies deliver an instant sense of childhood nostalgia. Fun fact: Not only does E.L. Fudge sounds like “elf fudge,” a fun take on the Keebler elves, but the E.L. stood for “Everybody Loves” when the cookies first made their debut. Turns out Keebler was right — everybody does love them!
For actual kids, kids at heart, and just about anyone with a sweet tooth, the combination of adorably cookies combined with creamy filling is plain ol’ perfection. There’s no time like the present to give the fresh new flavor a try.
