The Koala Wanda Sofa Bed Is Perfect for Small Spaces, and It Has Storage (Trust Me — I Tested It!)
I spend a lot of time on the couch. I’m a movie and TV fanatic, and I’m the designated host friend. On the days that I’m not working in the office you’ll find me carefully planted in the corner of my couch, typing away (like I am right now!). I’ve lived in New York City for the past four years and have lived in five different apartments and lived with five different (!) couches in that time period. I’ve never really found a couch that I loved enough to move with — that is, until I tried the Wanda Sofa Bed by Koala. This four-in-one sofa bed has been a constant fixture in my life since October 2025 when I first started testing it, and it’s everything that I could ever want and more.

Design Features That Stand Out
The Wanda Sofa Bed is a modular, pull-out sleeper sofa designed with practicality in mind and four different design capabilities: a reversible chaise, a large daybed, a queen size bed, and a slide-out sleep platform with a mattress topper. It measures 99x25x69 inches and weighs over 300 pounds; it’s a sturdy, substantial build. Despite its size, the sofa is easy to assemble and disassemble, which makes it practical for moves or reconfiguring your space.
As a sleeper sofa, it converts quickly into a bed by pulling out the base and unfolding the built-in mattress topper. The design provides a comfortable sleeping surface that works well for guests, while remaining supportive for daily lounging. The sofa can also be partially extended for relaxed seating, such as movie nights, without fully converting it into a bed.
The Wanda also has hidden storage compartments, which is ideal for storing blankets, pillows, or even board games. Visually, it offers a clean, cozy aesthetic that adds warmth without overpowering a room. It comes in four colorways: olive butter (a rich green), bronzed aussie (a warm bronze), morning fog (a silver-gray), and pearl moon (a creamy beige).
How the Koala Wanda Sofa Bed Performed
Living with the Wanda day-to-day has been genuinely great. When it was first delivered, it came in five different boxes that first overwhelmed me — but as soon as I read all of the directions and began assembling, it was very straightforward and easy for me and my roommate. Better yet, we moved a month after first trying this sofa, and disassembling it was just as easy as assembling it (and putting it back together felt like muscle memory).
As a sleeper sofa, the Wanda Sofa Bed really shines. Turning it into a bed is simple: Pull the base of the larger sectional piece, lift the other section to reveal the mattress topper, and pull it over. Every guest who’s stayed with me has raved about how comfortable it is, and several have even asked where it’s from. I also store all of my blankets in the sofa itself! Every bit of storage in a New York City apartment is incredibly valuable.
Sometimes I don’t even make it into a full bed. I’ll just pull out the bottom for movie nights, and let me tell you — it’s an experience with a capital E. The color is adorable, adds warmth to my space, and feels cozy without being boring.
Oh, and my cat is named Wanda, too! Which brings up a good point. The couch is not scratch-resistant (few are!) and although it is annoying, a fabric trimmer fixes it right up.

What We Love
- Easy to assemble: Pieces come separately and seamlessly come together.

- Soft, modern upholstery: A buttery-soft polyester-blend fabric that looks and feels sleek.
- Simple bed conversion: Bed pulls out from underneath for quick making.

Should You Buy the Koala Wanda Sofa Bed?
I really can’t think of a person that this couch isn’t good for. It’s large enough for a four- or five-person home, but also compact with a smart design that makes it shine in small apartments as well. It’s a piece of furniture that goes the distance and is ideal for people like me who need their furniture to do double (or triple) duty without compromising on style and comfort.
If you find yourself hosting a lot, then this sofa bed is absolutely worth considering. In November my brother and his girlfriend stayed with me for a week, and they said that the sofa bed was even more comfortable than their own beds! In that same vein, it is just as cozy for movie nights and everyday lounging.
