I choose my towels based on how closely they resemble fluffy blankets. With no window and a low ceiling, my bathroom feels cave-like, so I try to offset its dingy vibe with vibrant decor and spa-like products — hence the plush towels. The only drawback is that they aren’t exactly suited for a small space like my own. As crowded as it already is, there’s no chance my towels would all fit underneath my sink. My apartment doesn’t have a linen closet either.

The only option I had was to install a towel rack on the wall. It’s been doing its job just fine over the past few months. I hadn’t thought twice about replacing it until I spotted this brilliant $24 alternative. It can easily hold my entire towel collection and more, because it comes with a bonus shelf for toilet paper and other bathroom essentials.

What Is the LIDTOP Towel Rack?

Like many others on the market, my current towel rack — which you can see here — only has a single shelf on top. This one, on the other hand, has two! Technically, the basket shelf is separate from the towel holder portion. You can arrange the pieces as it appears in the photos by putting one on top of the other, or you can mount them in totally different spots. Your towels could go behind your door and the shelf above your toilet or vice versa. Altogether, it measures about 30 inches high.

According to the brand, the four slots can accommodate eight bath towels or four bath sheets. You could also roll up washcloths and put them in the basket above. (Personally, I’d put my hair dryer and irons in there, too.) On the very top wooden platform, you can artfully arrange some bathroom decor or keep things practical by storing something like toilet paper. The metal bars ensure that everything will stay in place — when you grab one towel, it won’t shift the entire stack. Same goes for anything else you put on the uppermost shelf.

One of my other favorite things about this towel rack is that you can go with black or white, matching it to the rest of your bathroom. You can also customize the color of the shelf’s plank, so the rack can be monochrome if you want to cut the wooden look out entirely.

What Amazon Shoppers Are Saying

Average Rating: 4.5/5

“Love love love this towel rack! Currently I don’t have a space for towels in my bathroom! Everything to assemble this towel rack was in the box. When hanging it up, it was very secure and sturdy! Also, I saw a review that said it wouldn’t hold bath sheets so I was nervous (because I’m a big body Benz and have to use bath sheets to cover all of my exterior) , but to my surprise (after rolling them tight) this rack fit my bath sheets also (they are a 32×64 I think)!” — Audrene

“Easy to assemble and install. I have a very small guest bathroom and wanted somewhere to put towels and essentials, without having to store them in the vanity (how many times have you gotten into the shower and forgot to grab a towel?). Not only is it functional, but also looks great and does not make the room look smaller.” — Karen L.

“I don’t have a linen closet for this bathroom so it was nice having something sleek and modern to hold towels in and also not break the bank. It’s nice and sturdy so no fear of it coming down and works perfect over the toilet space.” — Michelle M.

Some towel racks are better than others, and this is definitely one of the smarter ones I’ve seen — and I test organizers for a living. It saves so much space by giving your towels a home on the wall, and it goes a step further with the basket on top. Plus, you can hang an S hook on the basket and turn it into a hand towel holder!
