Lisa Rinna’s Dreamy Kitchen Has This ’90s-Coded Gem (We’re Obsessed with This Look!)
Kitchen design has come a long way since the 1990s, when oak kitchen cabinets, a built-in computer desk (with snail mail stacks!), a landline phone, and kitty-cornered countertop televisions were all too common. But leave it to Lisa Rinna, reality TV icon and contestant in Peacock’s latest season of The Traitors, to revive a beloved ’90s kitchen staple.
A recent Instagram post has eagle-eyed design-lovers gushing over Rinna’s nod to chic ’90s aesthetics.
The 62-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star posted a video of herself dancing in her kitchen earlier this month to drum up hype about the new Traitors season. And yes, although I’m very excited about her being on the show, it was hard not to soak in the goodness of her kitchen — which is a throwback in the best way possible.
Rinna’s kitchen features terracotta tile floors, white kitchen cabinets with wood knobs, and a butcher block countertop (Erin Napier’s go-to!). There’s also a TV anchored at the end of the counter that feels so homey — like I’m stepping back in time into my parents’ house.
“I’m obsessed with this house. Sooooo classic. I simply love it,” one person commented on Rinna’s post, to which someone else responded, “Me too. It’s SO warm and inviting.”
Lisa Rinna’s Kitchen Proves Kitchen TVs Should Absolutely Return
Small kitchen TVs were a staple in so many homes back in the ’90s and early 2000s. Remember, it was a time before massive flat-screens and open-concept kitchens took over (which real estate agents say are dwindling in popularity). They were how we learned of snow-day school closures, what we turned on to watch the nightly news while cooking dinner, and they kept us company with cartoons while eating pancakes on weekend mornings.
In this modern era, so many of us now bring our laptops or iPads into the kitchen for entertainment. But a small TV could provide the same experience without the threat of spilling something on your tech or getting distracted by seemingly endless notifications. And the nostalgic vibe seriously can’t be beat.
I can’t think of a better way to watch Lisa Rinna on The Traitors than from the comfort of my own kitchen on a tiny TV. It’s a full-circle moment — all made possible by this ’90s gem.
